I’m not sure you have the worst suits not blocking any A9s K9s, not sure if he has those in his range but definitely possible, makes me wanna fold river here.

Good point.

Do you agree this is almost never a pocket pair type hand like 77/88/TT?

What type of opponent is villain? If he is splashy I would call as he's likely to show up with far too much air here like j10s/qjs/87s/76s/22-44. If he's a rakeback grinder fold as he won't be bluffing this spot almost ever. Would think most players would bet a 9 or 5 oof. I'd lean towards a call despite have the ace of diamonds.

I would also be surprised to see pp's here. Mainly a 9,5 or air.

It's an anonymous/hudless pool.

All we can do is population analysis which I don't have a sample for yet.

Meant to quote you on the medium pocket pairs taking this line.

If he’s good he can, almost no one is checking overpairs twice here so he can kinda bet with impunity. But it’s a lot of assumptions and I think you fall back on your range and what hands you have to call here, I’d rather call AQ that block the 9xss so AK becomes an easy fold in my mind.

Re: BB3BET vs CO Thought's on this call down

So I'm trying to read through hands to gain a better understanding of the game and have a question concerning how you played the flop.

On his initial raise, I'd have villain with the following range: 22+, A2s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T8s+, 97s+, 87s, 76s, 65s, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo, T9o

The flop seems pretty dry. What is preventing you from making a c bet there?

Don’t hate the call down and don’t hate a low frequency small cbet.

What is your 3bet range here?
Why aren't we cbetting that flop?

I dont like the way is played.
His 3bet calling range for a random is mostly pairs ergo his value betting in turn and river.

Re: BB3BET vs CO Thought's on this call down

I think oop you could go for a cbet, but a check ils probably good too. As a previous poster pointed out, you don't block any villain value hands, as you don't block any A9s or K9s, or even QQ or JJ which may occasionally take this line. You don't block A5s either, which is less likely but still possible.

I do think here you have to bluff catch with some A highs. With Ah, I think this is a definite call, blocking both A9s and A5s. Ac is the second best, and Ad the worst A. I think I'd prefer having the T, then the J, then the Q, as they block some potential pp villain could have, and whilst K9s is more likely than Q9s or J9s (but maybe not T9s), I don't think it is too much more.

Overall, yours is far from the best A high you can have. However, if you're not 3betting AJo or ATo (assuming you're 3betting AQo), it might be just about good enough to call.

Can cbet OTF sometime. I'd rather cbet AKs here over AKo if I'm mixing.

9 high boards are cbet at a much lower frequency than T high boards for obvious reasons.

I'd rather not block a K
his river ob also feels like a bit of a tell
normally he'd go mid sized to vbet 77/66

Re: BB3BET vs CO Thought's on this call down

You want more villains like this in pool. He did mistake calling that 3bet in CO. As played, I used to call, but have found that most A+2pair hands check the river to save on rake. (split pot)

Was playing with Simple Trainer today (used the solver to study a few hands). Sometimes this is call, sometimes is fold. As stated above though, if you have played a lot of hands, and have studied most, even if not in pot, you can see the tendencies of pool. My experience tells me to fold here.
