Why would we bet and then shut down? The entire point is to extract value from non Ax hands. bet/shut down gives villain a strong read and they can attempt a very solid turn/river double barrel.

option c just reeks of the whole mindset that you have to c-bet cause you have to c-bet cause c-betting is what you gotta do.

check/call gives the obvious +ev value in the situation and also gives a chance to control pot size. Gives villain chance to bluff and gives you a better chance to extract value on turn/river.

First of all, we are oop on the flop against an aggressive player with $11 in the pot and $20 left in our stack - there's no way we can play for pot control in this hand.

There's also no way that we are getting villain to fold Ax here. I wouldn't even bring that up, but I've seen it mentioned multiple times itt.
