Checking the turn is fine, if you're planning to check-raise. Barreling is simpler and presumably more standard though. River looks like a fold. Villain has flushes and T9s a lot when he bombs t+r, and I can't think of many bluffs for him.

Overplaying QJ ever? River really sucks, potting turn on a FD doesn’t seem std but I guess he’s got some Qx FD combo and we just ran into a monster on the turn

Potting turn with a fd is fine if he perceives your range as capped.
