Ignition 5nlz

UTG raises to 3BB with an additional 169.4 BB behind.
Hero (CO) calls with A♥Q♥, and has 238.2 BB behind.
BU calls and has 188.4 BB behind.

FLOP (10 BB): Q♠3♠8♣
UTG bets 7.6 BB, Hero calls, BU calls.

TURN (31.6 BB): 3◆
UTG checks, Hero bets 19 BB, BU folds, UTG calls.

RIVER (67.8 BB): T♠
UTG checks, Hero checks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • I don't want to 3Bet AQs from CO because even how good it is, UTG 3x raise is a strong range as well. I would only 3Bet AK and QQ+ here; is that too nitty?
  • Flop I think is standard. No reason to raise or fold here.
  • Turn, how is my sizing? I think a bet is warranted - with 2 people in the pot, someone is more likely to give me value but other than BU having 33 and 88 I think this is a fine value bet. I think I would value bet here as weak as QJ. I would be a LOT more careful about bluffing though, and would only bluff K or A high flush draws.
  • Is the river check too safe? I tend to make these "I really don't want to get raised" checks a little too often when I'm IP on the river.

Seems like you played it well.

3bet AQ vs UTG probably not a good idea.

Turn sizing is pretty good imo, would you call a raise/jam? Also probably get value from weak holding, charge draws, etc

Given stack sizes are all fairly deep you can probably assume villain is somewhat competent. Lots of draws hit on the river and can already be behind some of UTG range. You don't block any flushes which isn't great when it comes to value betting river. You can consider going for real thin value on the river if you plan to fold to a jam. Think about what you are trying to get value from. KQ may call, stubborn JJ and TT may even call.

Often times the turn check when villain is OOP is them giving up or setting a trap but most players are fairly straightforward and do most of their tricky stuff pre-flop and on the flop.

Check is good imo. He does have KQ/QJ/QT/JJ in his turn xc range but you block some of those combos. What else calls river here?

I think this is a good spot to value bet small on the river. Absolutely folding to a x/r. Unless you have any reads that suggest V is capable of turning As, etc into a bluff generally villains will play pretty straightforwardly and call too often with 1 pair hence why going for thin value is worth it.

Looks fine, yeah can bet small targetting worse Qx and JJ, UTG may well bet the turn with AA/KK but checking back isn't terrible. Turn looks fine to me

KQ, QJ, JJ. Crying call from 99? Not impossible (tho optimistic)
Also: AA, KK, QT and check raised by other, stronger handss... But some of these are less likely based on turn check. It is thin - but if you aren't value betting with the worst hand sometimes then you aren't betting thin enough

Villain cbt 75% oop into 2 players. Don't think betting river is amazing, even turn doesn't feel great 3way. Would 3b pre also.

No, unless he is quite bad, we basically have no bluffs, flush got there and you think he will call with JJ and 99?
