Having a diamond is miles better if we ship the flop.
Villain is never folding since he has the pot odds to call with his FD, so I don't know I think Hero is in a real bad spot here is he shoves, at the very least you want V to have a few flush draws that do not have an A, but all the best ones are blocked: KQ,KJ,KT.
So let's put ranges on this:TT,77-66,AdQd,AdJd,AdTd this is what I think V calls your shove with, he has 78% equity.
Take away the Kd blocker, and he calls with this:TT,77-66,AdKd,AdQd,KdQd,AdJd,KdJd,AdTd,KdTd giving him 73% equity
So at the end of the day I don't know why you would shove. You are getting it in while behind for sure. If he is check raise bluffing he is almost for sure using AQ,AJ of diamonds. You got position, so use it and evaluate turn. In fact the way Hero played seems perfect to me.
I would think you never want to shove AA here with diamond. You take away AK,AQ,AJ,AT diamonds which probably consist of 60-80% of Vs bluffs.
