I was experimenting with widening 3 bet BTN Vs SB. generally I'm just folding pre.

Interestingly I was the most concerned with turn OB.

TBH I was a bit steaming mentally at this point, latter end of a rough session.

OTR I was trying to get all weaker 9x and PPs to call.

Not saying I'm happy with this hand at all, just kind of walking through what I was thinking.

A weak 9 doesnt usually play like that, he has most often a weak pocket , some busted Diamonds and a few better hands than yours

A9o is an okay call against BU.

Now, I know how a rough session can go in Zone, yesterday had jam all in with 88 vs my QQ pre, I call, dude rivers an 8. Switched levels. (I have the bankroll to do that).

On wet board like that, we want to bet, maybe one third to one half. However, that would be donking, so we are hoping villain bets.

Interesting call by villain on turn.

Again, 1/2 to 3/4 pot on river, maybe reluctantly call shove.

Flatting A9o is worse than 3betting it (and both options are dreadful)

Your game is like a full decade behind, imo you should really stop trying to discuss strategy until you bring yourself a bit more up to speed on strategy developments that have occurred within the last few years

No where does it say 3bet 19o. Dunno where you get that.

I don't have SB doing anything with A9o in any position.

Now, there is no standard, because all raises and flats are position dependent.

UTG different from HU different from CO, etc.

A9o okay from BB according to chart.

As explained in another thread, if its not 100% 3bet, I put it in flatting range.

If OP wants to play A9o from SB, it is an okay call. I sometimes splash a little as well. A little 87s from UTG, 55 from HJ, etc. This is not a rule, and is against the charts. Called a flat from SB with 98s, planning on bluffing vs UTG. Not in charts either. Bluffed AQo out of pot with 2 pair on board. (25nl)
