Villain is playing 28/10/3 in 260 hands. No personal history. Thoughts on the play overall is appreciated. Bigger 3 bet PF? Bigger bet on the flop? Not sure if the turn check is the best move, but kind of a gross card. Thanks-

MP: 125.96 BB
CO: 103.38 BB
BTN: 35.54 BB
Hero (SB): 101 BB
BB: 174.56 BB
UTG: 103.5 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A A

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, fold, BTN calls 3 BB, Hero raises to 11 BB, fold, MP calls 8 BB, BTN calls 8 BB

Flop: (34 BB, 3 players) 8 5 7
Hero bets 15 BB, MP calls 15 BB, fold

Turn: (64 BB, 2 players) 9
Hero checks, MP checks

River: (64 BB, 2 players) 4
Hero checks, MP bets 99.96 BB and is all-in

You want to sqz bigger oop around 14-15x at least. Flop is terrible for us I might range check here if I do bet its for small sizing. Turn check is fine. River I might block but AP I think I'm calling here. V can turn many hands into a bluff so I think folding AA is a big mistake.

Agreed about PF sizing, would make it 5x initial raise so around 15bb.

I'm not too afraid of 28/10 player hitting this flop opening and calling a squeeze from MP.

BTN however might have more of these strong hands so would be good to know their stats as well, if BTN calls flop I would check turn.

If MP calls, the board being very connected I would probs go bet flop shove turn even when the 9 comes. Villain doesn't have many 6x in range but a lot of TT-QQ.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious what the many hands in his range are you feel he's turning into a bluff after he called the flop with a player yet to act behind him.

Betting flop is fine...besides two combos of 87s, you're good to go. No one has 96s and if they have a set you are getting stacked regardless.

That being said, we need some hands in our c/c range and this one works well. Curious to hear others on this one.

OK thanks for the clarification, though I wouldn't think he's now betting TT-QQ as a bluff here then. I'd assume he's shoving them for value given my check to him on both the turn and river. Suited broadways I'm not sure get called on that flop with a person yet to act except for JT which got there, though odder things have happened. I personally can't think of many hands he's betting as a bluff here. 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, 67s, 89s, all are for value as well as the overpairs you mentioned.

I guess he could turn A9s or A4s into a bluff here. Everything else is value.

definitely bigger pre, other than that i think you played the hand well against this guy if you folded river. i might bet flop a little bigger against him also. its a high freq check with both your range and especially your hand otf against a competent player but against 28/10 just get da value. and i def would not assume 28/10 is unlikely to inappropriately slowplay a value hand; they absolutely love that ****
