Really simple hand...I just haven't been getting in to too many spots where I've been confused lately, and I still want to be checking up.

.50/1, Pokerbros, 6max, $100 effective. Hero is new to the table so his stats are unknown. Villain is VPIP 33%-50%, PFR<20%.

OTTH

Villain opens BTN $2.50 and hero calls BB 8 7.

Flop ($5.50): 6 5 2. Hero x going for x-r and villain checks back. X-r here is standard, right?

Turn ($5.50): 7. I was planning on leading every turn that wasn't an A, K, 8, or 7, and x-c all of those. Is this sound, or a leak?

Why wouldn't you lead a K? It smashes your range.

For this turn, I am inclined to check back.

ETA: oops -- misread; thought we were on the button.

I would check the turn and, if checked back, lead out for 1/3 to 1/2 pot most rivers, targeting unimproved ace-highs

You want 2 sizings for turn probes. If the turn was an Ace/King you would lead big (if you decided to bet) because you are saying you have those pairs beat.

On this turn you can lead small. Especially since almost no one knows how to play their turn range after the flop goes X/X.

Bet turn. You can call a raise.

You likely have the best hand an should be extracting value. Also if villain has nothing he's freerolling the river, I doubt he ever stabs after check/check on this board.
