J89ss is a grim board for our range, i think x/x is fine to begin with - i think this factor overrides any notion of 'protection' for our specific hand QQ. We have one club, T is a gin card and we still have plenty of time to build the pot should we get some really nice run outs so no urgency to pile money in.

bet/folding bet/stacking off make me pretty uneasy.

similarly betting say 1/3 pot and villain calls, puts us in a spot where we get to turn with eff SPR of ~0.5, putting us in commitment mode for all but the worst turn cards.
