4 to a straight call/fold ? 4 to a straight call/fold ?

At first glance it looks like a snap call but it's a huge overbet on a 4 straight board.Villain needs to be shoving worse than 9x here otherwise vs 9x and T9 with the rake im losing money long term i believe so call or fold. ? no stats on villain 4 hands.

MP: $0.80 (40 bb)
Hero (CO): $2.80 (140 bb)
BTN: $1.16 (58 bb)
SB: $2.00 (100 bb)
BB: $0.68 (34 bb)
UTG: $2.75 (137.5 bb)

SB posts $0.01, BB posts $0.02, MP posts $0.01

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.04) Hero has 9 9
UTG calls $0.02, fold, Hero raises to $0.08, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.06

Flop: ($0.20, 2 players) 5 7 A
UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.20, 2 players) 6
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.13, UTG calls $0.13

River: ($0.46, 2 players) 8
UTG bets $2.54 and is all-in, Hero ?

Do you remember if it was a snap-shove or did he time bank first? You do unblock spades (not sure if that matters much here), and obviously block T9. Still, this is the nuts very often.

Good spot i didnt see that adding A4s to 9x and T9s makes the call break even. But with the rake is calling better than folding and by how much ?.I guess i have to account for some bluffs as well which makes calling slightly +ev ? It's been a while since ive done any calculations im just getting going again.

I'd be more likely to fold this to a quick shove, although it would be very hard for me to fold blocking T9.

With A4s being pointed out that i somehow missed i guess we can add hands like 45s.Possibly 64s that was an oesd that picked up a pair on the turn and made the straight on the river.Maybe even 34s that called a gutter and slow played the turn.So ye after a little help and thinking about it in more detail it's a call.Perhaps being results orientated as my mind was focussed in on a range of 9x and T9 which felt like a losing call.Although im not to sure 4x overbets like this all that often it's probably often enough to justify calling and villain can maybe have a few bluffs trying to get me off Ax.

I agree that this could be an overplayed 4 at NL2 looking to "get value" from an ace or something. Sometimes propably fine to fold the better straight but not with two nines.
