PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.01/$0.02 - 6 players
Replay this hand on Upswing Poker

UTG: $1.86 (93 bb)
MP: $6.28 (314 bb)
CO: $1.09 (55 bb)
BU: $1.25 (63 bb)
SB (Hero): $2.17 (109 bb)
BB: $3.72 (186 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is SB with Q A
3 players fold, BTN raises to $0.06, Hero 3-bets to $0.20, 1 fold, BTN 4-bets to $1.25 (all-in), Hero calls $1.05

Giving his stack size and position, should I be calling his jam here?
When he jammes, I put him on 88+,AJs+,AQo and my AQs looked a bit to juicy to fold :P

Thanks

BTN is short. It's SB vs BTN. Yeah going with AQs is reasonable.

I'd lean towards a fold in a high rake environment
I'd lean towards a fold vs a 2NL fish going all in preflop
I'd lean towards a call vs a 2NL fish going all in preflop

I'd flip a coin

If you are using a specific range it's not really a question to ask rather than an EV calculation.

Work it out, post your working and someone will let you know if you did it right.

If you can't do simple EV calculations, learn how it's basic how to get good at poker 101.

With the odds you're given on a call you need about 42% equity against his range. He needs to be jamming some real trashy hands in order for that to be the case when holding AQs.

You're break-even against a range of 88+,AK,AQ,AJs,KQs but you probably need a few percent more to account for the rake. I actually think it's close.

You basically just need villain to have some dominated Ax or Qx in his range. If he jams AJ or KQ (or worse), you're fine. It's not massively printing money, but it's a call vs a typical short-stack shover.
