Pre-flop is a clear fold.
Anyways, you got your gamble on and cold called a 3-bet with 79s and the miracle happened.
You have to realize that, unless you are a huge fish, you almost never have a flush here. Your range for cold calling 3-bets are mostly pocket pairs and some good aces (in which case you may have Q
, but never a flush). Point being that a thinking opponent may be betting several worse hands, some even without spades, for protection. Although he most certainly will be calling your all-in with AA and KK and maybe AK and AxQ
, a lot of his betting range simply can't stand much pressure but may bet non-spade turns.
He will very rarely have a bigger flush here as QJs, QTs, JTs isn't hands you typically 3-bet UTG raisers with.
Should you get to a safe river (non-spade, non-paired board) you can bet big as your range will be polarized. You may even get lucky and see him bluff with the Q
