2NL Blind vs Blind Wheel Facing 3xPot Shove on River 2NL Blind vs Blind Wheel Facing 3xPot Shove on River

My take on this hand:
  1. I should have cbet flop since we have A high, a wheel draw, and bd flush draw
  2. River seems like a fold without any read on opponent (he had only sat down for about 10 hands), unlikely he jams with anything we can beat, especially as board pairs on river? The only thing we could beat (that makes sense) is A3 (or less likely, other x3 hands), which is less probable due to our A blocker, AT spazzing out, or complete air.
  3. My goal in the river bet was to get a 3 or AT to call, but the more I think about it the more this river should actually be a x/c or b/f. Thoughts on my line?
  4. Although Villain holding TT or 55 here seems unlikely since there was no 3b pre or a turn raise, I'm not sure we can discount that too much as 2NL is full of terribly slowplayed monsters

Yeah cbet flop is good I think. Lots of turns to barrel on.

Would prefer to x/r turn I think.

    Not sure about river.

We should be topping up to 100bb though.

Thanks guys. I hadn't topped up because I was playing on mobile and hadn't set it up yet (lol mobile I know but since I work 10-12 hours a day I would never get 500-1000 hands/day otherwise). I've set up my rebuy on mobile now :P

I almost puked a little in my mouth when V shoved here. And why do we x/r turn? Is it because he took the initiative OTF, so check turn knowing he will bet a good % of the time? What kind of x/r sizing would you think? I would think something on the larger side, maybe 3/4 pot?

Yes, V should barrel a lot with bluffs and if they have a set/2pair we can get more of their stack. Donking turn allows them to play perfectly. With x/r size you want to try and set up a shove OTR, so anything that will leave around a PSB would be good.

I see, and then check fold river? Given we are repping much stronger maybe villain checks back river as well?

Not folding river and never folding it at 2nl. Guy prob thinks A3, 63 or KT is the nuts and wants to get it in.

No no no we x/r turn so that we can lead out OTR with a jam. Probably not a single card in the deck that I'm not shoving on. If V boated up then so be it.

Think we might be levelling ourselves slightly here given that this is 2nl although the board isn't amazing. I'd still expect villain to turn up here with 3x, KT+ here a fair amount of the time.

Whoops I thought this was my other post where I got jammed on when I had top pair. Disregard - of course we're vbing river.

Every time I've called over shoves at 2NL has ended in tears for me, which is why I folded here. Although I've also seen some crazy **** people have shown down on the river (J high calling a shove etc). Overall do you think it's better to fold here because assuming our villain is competent, he never shoves here with anything we beat? If I get used to making these calls it could be disastrous at higher limits no? Or would you guys open shove/call a shove even vs competent players?

I wouldn't advocate making big lay downs like this all the time. If you fold straights here, I could just bluff jam you with nut straight blockers and you fold?

Very good point - it's very exploitable from the perspective of a good villain, and even without a specific read a good villain would make a play like that with nut blockers anyways. Especially since the flush didn't get there I should like my hand even more.
