villain 23/16 64 hands

Not a big enough sample on villain for check raise stat etc. Obviously much better board for the BB range but we have it nailed. Strange line from villain as straights probably don't want to be overbetting this river, maybe 98s but that's about it, very tough for villain to have a flush here as 45cc is no longer possible and 98cc is probably the only logical flush unless he was completely airballing flop and turn. Standard call?

Jam the turn. As played 89 beats you, you block his two pair combos hard (67), every 4 has a straight now and the backdoor flush hit. So basically, few bluff combos on the flop have turned into the the nuts on the river. You beat lower sets and pretty much random spew.

I say its a river fold

That is a pretty bad turn card for your actual hand, but I think I just go with it. I'd probably raise turn but not all in (possibly just minraise), and then sigh, but still call, when he 3b jams his straight.

What's the point of min-raising?

I think it gives villain the chance to make mistakes, like calling with hands that wouldn't call a shove, or shoving with a hand that shouldn't jam.
Maybe it's too fancy for this spot, but I've never understood why there's such a hurry to get all in if you have a hand you're probably never folding.
