what is villains range here? im thinking it consist of mostly value hands like strong aces (Aj+) .. possibly some flush draws but the only one that makes any sense is QJ. and even that is iffy, i see villain flatting a hand like that instead of 3 betting me pre.

should i have continued? villain was probably going to jam on the river and the way i saw it i didn't have much equity against his range in this spot.

also as a side question what should my 4 bet range be like in spots like this?

I'd guess his value-barrels are AA, KK, AK, A5s and AQ. He can have various club draws if he 3-bets suited connectors, but the Ac and Kc on the board remove any pr+FD combos, so folding turn seems fine to me. It's just a much better board for villain's range than yours. I think you probably have to call once more with AQs.

4-bet range has a few optional hands in it. Since this spot is roughly equivalent to UTG v MP in a 6-max game, I'm probably only 4-betting QQ+, AK, ATs, A5s, but you can put other suited wheel aces and KQs in there at random frequencies.

thanks i agree with you.

also dumb question but why do suited wheel aces make for good 4 bets?
is it to balance your range?

Blockers against the 5-bet range (AA, AK) and equity/playability vs the calling range (KK/QQ or middle pairs, suited Broadways, SCs).

This hand is close to the top of your range so I don't see how you can fold to the brick turn. I guess you can have 55 or A5s as his 3bet is tiny, but this is going to be the best hand you have other than AQ or if you somehow decided to slowplay AK, KK, or AA. I'm not folding turn to a half-pot bet especially to someone with those stats.
