$220 effective, HJ is VPIP 33%-50% and VPIP<20%, hero is VPIP<20%.

OTTH

Villain opens $5 HJ, hero 3 bets $15 OTB A Q, and villain calls.

Flop ($33): Q 8 5. Villain checks-hero bets $11-villain calls.

Turn ($55): 2. Villain checks-hero bets $40-villain calls.

River ($135): Q. Villain checks-hero shoves $154. Thoughts?

Admittedly, I have zero clue how to play monotone boards like this in equilibrium, and just took a wide value oriented approach given that the villain is a fish. I'm going to plug this spot in to a solver a little later, but I wanted to get this HH in before today's session.

I do have a question aside from the check, though. So long as you think the line is fine, would you still jam river if it wasn't a Q/A?

I like it, I'd play it same way. Would not jam a 9, 10, J, K, and obviously a heart. Jam everything else.

Seems a bit thin otr but Im not checking back either. I would go a smaller sizing though as it enables villain to call it off with 99 - JJ. I think your mostly going to fold out that part of villains range by bombing it like this. It is polarizing though so villain can interpret it as a bluff easily.

We get called by the case queen, 99-JJ with a heart. Occasionally we run into the flopped nutterbutters or near nuts. It’s fine to jam though. The only difference between this and a Jack hi flush is that the jack hi flush blocks flush combos that our opponent has.
