I Probably should of checked turn for pot control, I bet for protection against flush draws wished I went bigger on turn sizing wise thanks.

River was getting a good price but the Ace really kills action for me I think, Wish i over-jammed turn if anything

    He man,

As played the river is a call you cant fold there anymore.
The turn is where you decide to fold or shove imo. "checking for pot control' is a bad idea. He has a set here or nothing. He is a short stack so it could be anything but a 7 is unlikely but you never know huh.

Main thing here is that if you call that turn you call the river.

One of the biggest problems that we are facing at the tables is using a concept incorrectly.

In order for you to apply a balance strategy you need have some evidence that your opponent is somewhat agressive or have a good application(not understanding, understanding is not enough) of a balance concept. If this is not the case you are leaving money on the table.

I don't consider a player with 89.7bb(....I might be missing a piece of information here) a competent opponent. I will apply a level 1&2 strategy here.

Flop raise needs to be much bigger in order to better define his range. Your $1.10 raise priced in far too many hands to effectively range him on later streets. Better something in the range of $1.80-$2.20. You then make a much more effective pot size for a turn jam.

KK with 4-5 SPR is not a pot control hand.

The A makes it different, folding and calling are probably not too different in terms of EV

Bet the turn, no need to protect our check back range when we're polarized

I like bigger OTF -> shove turn , especially against a guy who is just clicking buttons.

Don't see how we can fold river as played. I guess we can have some Axhh combos in our range (not sure how often they're betting turn) and maybe at A7s at some frequency, but we're pretty high up in our range and we don't block any draws.

So short stacking villain can never have QQ,JJ,TT,99,88 here?

On the river you're getting more than 4 to 1 on your money and villain can never have worse at least 20% of the time?

    This is line check
    So first:
    river is a call
turn is a shove you basically have the second best hand you can raise here with.
Villain seems fishy due to his bet sizing so he can definitely be oveplaying overpairs weaker than yours, or 2 overcards and a heart draw.
    Flop is fine.
