I don't get what value he has on turn that he doesn't bet on flop except 22. On river we're getting such good pot odds, I don't think that I can fold.

Not sure if my flop check is a mistake.

I think betting flop is better because our hand is pretty vulnerable, but maybe some better players will disagree. Would be happier checking hands that need less protection.

Villain's turn play is weird, as you say, given his flop check, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen villains slowplay 77/66 like this. Villain's river sizing is even weirder and it feels like it can't ever be a bluff, but at the same time the pot odds are so good.

Given the odd, non-standard plays I'd assume there is a decent amount of spew from this player and call river; but with almost 2.5k hands you should have some reads here to help you.

His flatting range(27/11/5) I think is lower pocket pairs(77-88-99, but as he is a weaker player, he will have 66- pairs in his pocket here, maybe he just flat 10-10(JJ) here!), stronger suited broadways(KQs, KJs, QJs, J-10s); and he could have AQs, AQo, Ajs here. Against that range it has to be a cbet for me on the flop. Our hand would be ok against a really agressive player to go c/rAi on the flop, but against a passive player we will rarely get a bet after our check on the flop. I would want to protect my hand against his range.

On the turn we dcbet 60% of the pot, it's a really decent sizing, and the fishy/passive player make a massive 3x reraise on a drawheavy board. Against an agro/creative fish we could be ahead on the turn, but against him I just fold my 88. I don't want to face and c/c another bet on the river against him.
