I hate movies
I might regret this and apologies to others if this becomes a terrible derail but how can you hate movies?
07-01-2014 , 09:29 AM
Idk if id say I hate em but I can relate. They're long. And a risk. It's one of the only forms of entertainment I can think of where a lot of the time you finish saying "I didn't like that."
07-01-2014 , 12:14 PM
Yeah the internet has ruined my ability to be able to sit down and watch a movie all the way through, not enough stimulation. It's a shame, I think movies are a great art form

Anyway need to get some better fitting shorts while summer is still going on, the ones I have rn are too big

Same. I usually just talk a lot during movies that I watch with friends. Usually get lost in the plot but it's something good to have on in the background.

I don't watch movies that suck, so no risk there for me.

Hello,

I want to buy brown 'class' shoes (daily wear with suits) (it's 'ok' to wear brown & classy shoes in my work environment) : which one would you go with ?

http://www.loake.co.uk/loake-1880/toe-cap/aldwych.html ( brown)

http://www.meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=4142

http://www.meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1967

http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline...0000000001_-1_ (walnut calf)

Or something different ?

thank you in advance

If you wear it with suits, then the Loake or the AE - decide on price.
If it's for daily wear in business casual, I'd go with the Meermin 10164.

Thanks for the feedback.

It's quite a mix of your two options
I'll wear them on a daily basis and I have to go to work in suits

about the loake vs AE, its $365 vs £209.00 -> ~265€ in each case (I'm from France - didn't check shipping cost yet)
so is there a 'better' brand here ?
07-01-2014 , 06:05 PM
Given that you have to pay duties on the AE, I would take a pass on them.
Check out Langer & Messmer as well. Their own brand is great but they also got the Aldwych as shoe of the month at 229€ currently.
07-02-2014 , 01:10 PM
What duties are you talking about for AE ? apparently they do free shipping

Aldwych on Langer & Messmer is not at 229 € for my size
07-02-2014 , 01:16 PM
i have a pair of allen edmonds that i wear literally every single day to work and beat the hell out of them. ive gotten them resoled twice but they have held up extremely well all things considering. these shoes don't owe me one penny.

if youre looking for some higher end stuff, alden is awesome.

Their own brand is imo better than Loake anyways.

Well if you import stuff from the US, you have to pay import tax, duties and what not, I dont know how high this would be in the EU.

indeed, it was pretty high for AE..

I ordered the aldwych (discount will be applied normally, so that's nice)

Hope they 'll fit me well!

thanks for your advices

received the aldwych today, really happy !

just tried them quickly, but I really feel the difference with the basic/cheap classy shoes I had.

thanks again for your recommendations

hello,

quick questions: I received two 'travel bags' with the shoes. Is it a good idea to put them inside these bags every day or it's not needed?

I also received these things you put in the shoes so that they keep their shape (don't know the english word for this thing)
This is something I want to put back in the shoes every day, right ?

thanks
07-14-2014 , 08:09 AM
Put the shoe trees in the shoes after every time you wear them.

No need to put them back in the shoe bags, they are only for travelling - or at least I only use them for travelling.
07-14-2014 , 09:43 AM
Yep, the shoe trees aren't only for the shoes to keep their shape, they also take the moisture out of the shoes so put those in. No need for the travel bags really.

Anyone have teeth whitening tips. I think i drink too much coffee. Wouldn't mind whiter teeth.
07-24-2014 , 09:47 AM
I've been rinsing my mouth with 3% peroxide before bruising 2x a day. Seems to help a bit but nothing spectacular though.

I've used this before too and thought it worked well but I used it for 20 minutes each time

I've heard Rembrandt tooth paste is good for whitening but I've never tried it

I use Crest Whitestrips and drink coffee through a straw at home.

I'm aware that might sound pathetic.

I swear by those strips though.

i actually have some steel straws. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0036ZH5KO/

got teeth whitening the other month on a groupon deal, was like $25. the lady there told me she uses straws so i ordered these on amazon. i've barely used them because it's annoying, but trying to get into it.

may look into strips or something. peroxide doesn't sound ideal for the teeth.
07-24-2014 , 10:13 AM
Hydrogen peroxide is what makes the teeth whiter. As far as I know there are no teeth whitening treatments without it.

My question is, how do hot girls always seem to have really white teeth?

i think they are diligent in using products for them. in general i think they also intake less stuff that discolours teeth: beer, red wine, cola, smoking...

A couple pics of business casual at work. We out here fam. The blue/stone had the dark brown park aves with them, looked really sick, need to get a second watch at some point because I have a strap that matches them(cloes enough) but dont feel like swapping out daily):

Last two are same outfit, wasnt aplnning on the purple and purple sock/shirt but it looked pretty good imo.
