One thing when posting in SL is you have to realize who certain people are. A lot of people here are no longer in college, some are, some are not in college but live in college town, some live in big cities. in terms of style C&J makes amazing shoes, if you want to throw down near a grand on something.
Boat shoes are something i would recommend for the college kids or even in a beach place, obv not suitable for the work place, or if you are living in a place like NYC or Chicago or even a place where it doesnt really get much over 70.
A lot of people itt are not in college and the style they recommend is more suitable for young professionals, especially in fashion forward cities where wearing 600$ pair of dress shoes to an upsacle lounge is acceptable. You wear those shoes to a sports bar ina college town and you will get laughed at(but probably still be able to score a bish nomsayin?)
The appropriate style for a dance bar in a college town is something that someone like henry would never recommend wearing, but hes not going to college bars. So make sure you understand what you need in the context of where and what you are doing in life. Also important though is to realize eventually you are going to leave school so its important to understand what clothes you can buy that can work in both a college scene and young professional scene.
There are different levels of fashion and personal style depending on where you live and what you are doing. That said 99% of college kids can use a serious fashion upgrade.
