Recommend me a watch < $2000 please. Thanks. I have no clue where to even start regarding watches. I will be wearing this watch with dress shirts and ties every day and that's it.

Also, I am thinking about a used Breitling. Any thoughts on used watches from a reputable dealer?

You can get nice watches for around 1k too(Steinhart/Stowa)...and even cheaper(Hamilton/Citizen/Seiko/Orient/Tissot)

EDIT: I guess I would prefer a leather band. Not really a fan of a steel band.

Stowa Marine Chronograph(Can get differnt bands)

Ball Trainmaster Eternity(reatials just around 2k, can get cheaper used though)

Raymond Wiel Meistor Phase de Lune(Appears this is retalingfor 2.4k, thought it was cheaper, meh)

My next watch is probably gonna be the Steinahrt Nav-B Chrono, but dont know how well it will work in a workplace. It goes for about 1k:

The crown on the Nav-B chrono ii(pictured in last photo) is smaller than the first one, which is more to my liking.

stowa is a quality watch at a good price

Liking all the clean looking watches ITT, especially that Ball piece. Check the watch thread in EDF, there is a ton of good info and there are recommendations for watches in your budget.

Black Suit + extra trousers
Brown Blazer
Shirts (have 6 at the moment, though a few are mediocre)
2x shoes, black and brown

and adding in

Business pants x 2 , gray/navy/charcoal?
2 nice new shirts

or adding in
new suit (navy or grey)
If I had to start a new business wardrobe today:
Get suits in navy and charcoal ratio 2:1.
Get shoes in black and brown ratio 2:1.
Get shirts in white, light blue and pink ratio 2:1:1.

For blazers, I would go navy only and get some chinos, ratio 1:2.

After 6 suits or so, I would then get a mid grey one as the odd one out.

I really like the look of some of those Hamilton watches. They are well made I am guessing?

They(new Hamiltons) use ETA movements, and are great quality for the price.

The watch rankings in the <1k price range are very subjective, but nobody is going to look down on a hamilton, and it will last a long time.

They are Swiss (owned by Swatch). So, yes. The fact that they were originally American probably keeps the price down.

All-- good recommendations on everyday semi-casual leather shoes?

I'm 25 and a 3rd year graduate student... so on a day-to-day basis I'm in business casual attire (Chinos/slacks, dress shirt with no tie/buttondown/v-neck solid t shirt, leather manbag, etc.). I have ok ones now but they are beginning to be past their prime. Sperry's are a bit too undergrad for me but full on dress shoes are a bit too old man. What's right on the middle?

The first ones are pretty much what I had in mind. I don't do hipster **** so the second ones aren't happening. Thanks, I'll start peaking around at similar styles.

yes, all of that.

also, every man should have at least one nice watch. it's a must-have, like a nice suit. there's no excuse for not owning one.

and if you're one of those people who likes wearing a Casio - that's fine, however you must own a presentable watch as well. if you can spend $200 on ****ing jordan's or whatever, then you can spend $1k+ on your first watch. i realize there are decent pieces available in the ~$500 range and maybe even less than that, but i wouldn't go that low.

WEll first off chukkas are not hipster, they are rather fashionable with chinos/jeans. Since you liek oxford type shoes I would go for something liek the sebago brattle in british tan

You could also go the route of bucks and go sockless which is pretty in right now, and looks good for warmerish climates(aka florida)
