www.studentsreview.com

does anyone have any opinion on the quality of advice on this site? it seems like the comments are pretty polarized, but does anyone who has looked at a school they attend on this site think their representation is accurate? there is a lot of advice on there that you wouldn't hear on a tour, so id suggest people who have a decision to make about where they want to go read about the school they like. i feel a lot better about the fact that i probably wont get into my first choice after read that getting a 3.0 is an accomplishment there

I have been using this site for a while for all my college stuff and I find the review helpful. You can kind of tell that some kids write lengthy negative reviews because they got kicked out or didn't fit in or w.e, but after reading a bunch of them I think you can learn a lot about the school. I think the scores are kind of ridiculous though.

fury,

Reading Illinois State's reviews, it seems pretty accurate. You get some reviews saying the city is terrible and others saying it is everything they could want. I think it really helps give a good idea of what to expect because it's probably safe to assume that the former are Chicago kids and the latter are country bumpkins.

Overall, I would say that the reviews are a decent source of information. Better than nothing, but it's always good to find out more somehow else.

This is based off reading the 20 or so reviews for ISU and none else.

holy cross got a good overall score, but the fact that people rated the "surrounding city" which is ****ing Worcester a C+ means that either a)they all came from african slum villages or b) they are being a bit generous. Also, one person complained that "and the social life is centered around sports and getting drunk." Sounds pretty good to me.

Def. some good info and insights there if you take it with a huge grain of salt

edit- that same person also referred to the school as "Holy Cross College" which isn't even the name, and yet they claim they went there for four years?

Wait, was Holy Cross your undergrad Noah?

I live right outside of Worcester and go to school in the next town over. Basically, I want to kill myself every time I'm in Worcester. I290, the highway, is like a football field away from Holy Cross. Nice location. The main reason I didn't apply to Holy Cross was because it's in Worcester. I mean, it's a good school, but it's in Worcester?

i read the USC reviews, it seems most of the reviews are people talking about how much they hate the business school. maybe just because it is USC but it some of the reviews have people saying they are embarassed to say they went there and some say they would never go anywhere else, not sure what is right. oh well, guess it has to be taken with a grain of salt
