+1. I remember reading that sentence and wondering if it meant more revealing or sluttier to attract attention or more conservative to give a better first impression.

but whats the difference between a dot and a feather?
feather =

it took me like 5 years after the first time i heard "dot, not feather" to understand what ppl meant. growing up in ky we always referred to feathers as native americans so it never even occurred to me that ppl still called them indians.

hahahaha i was also gonna ask about the "dressed like she doesnt have a bf" thing but figured that since he actually typed it that it was really obvious and i was gonna look like a moron for not knowing.

lol i forgot people actually used the term indian for native americans. mostly because there are a lot of really smart people on this board and we should know better.

it means that she doesn't own this shirt.

Yeah I meant dot. The feather does nothing for me. The other night I talked to some really drunk Indian girl and she shipped digits but they were obviously incorrect lol

Let's talk about shoes: I usually just wear sneakers and I have that under control pretty well. But I'm going to try wear dress shoes more often. This brings up issues of the formality of the shoe vs. the formality of the event, color of shoe in relation to sock and in relation to shirt, and in relation to pants.

I have a pair of black and brown dressy-ish shoes. The first look a lot like this:

They are pretty fancy, but I wear them to parties sometimes, wear them to clubs often, and might start wearing them around classes. I wear them with jeans, khakis, and black dress pants, and with black socks, ldo. But does it matter what color my shirt is? White/black/green/maroon seems to go well with these shoes. But what about a brown shirt? Should I wear brown shoes? And are these too fancy to wear with jeans and a good fitting tee shirt? It feels like they're not really congruent with a tee shirt sometimes. Too casual at the top, too fancy at the bottom.

The brown shoes look like this:

But slightly casual, they have this sort of stitching on the side that creates three lines almost like Adidas' thing. From far, they look similar to the above though.

I wear them with jeans and khakis. Should I be wearing brown socks with these? Black is not okay, right? And what kinds of shirts can they go with? They also seem to not go well with tee shirts. And what color shirts should I do and not do? They only seem appropriate with brown shirts for some reason.

There has to be more of a reason such as you want to hurt her current BF or she is a perfect 10 -- something to motivate this otherwise I don't see why you'd bother.
Her current bf is actually a decent guy and I wouldn't feel to great if I was successful.

She very well could be 'my' 10.

The laundry list of why to just go after other girls continues to grow.

GCG, shoes match the belt, socks match the pants is the general rule.

Belts are necessary/fashion accessory? I don't own a single one, perhaps I'm missing out on something..
08-26-2010 , 08:14 PM
A nice belt is pretty solid to have imo.
08-26-2010 , 08:38 PM
belts are a pain in the ass and i only wear them if my pants are too big. who notices belts?
08-26-2010 , 08:46 PM
You need to wear a belt. This is pretty much dressing 101.
08-26-2010 , 08:57 PM
Agreed. Never leave home without a belt.
08-26-2010 , 09:15 PM
maybe the reason girls keep flaking on me is cause i haven't been wearing a belt. yeeeeeesssssss this will solve all of my problems.

really though, unless a belt is white, i just never notice it. jeans and a tee shirt and sneakers and you guys are wearing belts with that? or is this only for dressing a bit nicer?
08-26-2010 , 09:25 PM
I only don't wear a belt if I'm going out in jeans and a tshirt and you would only notice if you lifted my shirt up. Otherwise belt is a must.
08-26-2010 , 09:52 PM
what? do you guys not wear belts with your shorts? i think i wear a belt like 9 out of 10 days.

edit - the 1 day i wont is when im wearing athletic shorts
08-26-2010 , 09:57 PM
Can't imagine not wearing a belt on anything with belt loops
08-26-2010 , 10:17 PM

08-26-2010 , 10:27 PM

Yeah, anything with belt loops looks really damn weird on you if it doesn't have a belt running through it. Surprised people aren't wearing belts.

Very interesting. I'll pay more attention. Suggestions for a black belt to wear w jeans or slacks?
