I'm not even sure that you're right about the poundtown thing, I was under the impression that he just doesn't do one-nighters, but either way...his personality seems almost nothing like Karak's aside from the good "doesn't simply view women as semen receptacles" trait.

And I have no idea how you draw the assumption that he's withholding a bunch of stuff. He might be, but how would any of us know that?

In reality, my postings ITT are an accurate reflection of my personality. Likewise, it is also a bit myopic to think you can really get to know someone at a significant level of depth by merely reading about them and not being able to learn anything about them contextually. In order to be more like Karak, I could post more detail of my romantic life ITT. But I lack the dedication to do that, you guys don't care,and not enough exciting stuff happens to me to make this a decent thread if that happened.

My attitude towards this thread is similar to the poker forum in general. Do we post about completely obvious lines? No. We post and analyze semi-infrequent or common lines that are difficult to handle and attempt to negotiate them better. See for example my post from this morning. Reasonably common situation, but difficult to handle. I have had many successes that I haven't posted in this thread and similarly plenty of failures. I didn't post them because there wasn't anything to talk about.


With respect to poundtown, LKJ is correct. I won't go to poundtown with any girl I'm not in an exclusive relationship with. On the other hand I tend to be quite selective about who I become exclusive with, so poundtown isn't visited by me with great frequency. With a one nighter, anything short of doing the no pants dance is fair game. At the same time I've stuck to my commitment of avoiding one nighters for the last 3+ months and intend to keep it that way.

I think it's really difficult to say that any two regs are really that much like each other ITT. There's occasional overlap of certain personality traits of course, but every reg is pretty distinct to me.

IMO going to poundtown is fine so long as both parties expect similar things. Right now poundtown girl seems to be on the same wavelength as me, no texts or calls today. Might see her Wed might not depending on our schedules.

Meanwhile I consider my options, having easy access to weekly poundtown is nice, but having true GF material would be nicer. My eyes will stay open. I don't feel bad about this, because I think she feels the same way.

And I agree with the overall discussion about the dentist's office scenario.

I think there was a ~40% chance she would have accepted an invitation to coffee or the like. But I made a huge blunder in not developing any kind of uniqueness to my interaction with her. She asked what I was doing later in the day. While the reality was that I was going to work, running, going to the gym, and eventually rock climbing, I made no mention of anything other than work and perhaps going out tonight.

I had a perfect opportunity to develop the conversation there. (1) She looked like a runner, (2) She had Puma indoor soccer shoes on, and (3) Girls seem to really find rock climbing interesting. Any of those 3 directions could have easily given the conversation the depth it needed to make asking her out completely appropriate and vastly improved my chance of success.

As it was, I was just a presumably decent looking and outgoing patient she had this morning that she had a brief and humorous conversation with.

Cliffs- when a girl gives you a chance to talk about something interesting, use it.
