Last night was my last final of 1L. Needless to say, I'm still coping with a hangover right now. For the pure amusement of it all, I can tell you the part of my night that brings back an old favorite character; couch girl.

She had told me that since I sent her notes from a study session before finals, she'd buy me my first drink after that final. She texts me and asks which bar we're at, I tell her, she says she'll be there soon. I send her a text saying, "Excellent. I look forward to this first drink you're buying me. You and I are shooting tequila." I knew that wouldn't go over well. She says, "Agggghhh no!! We can discuss this when I get there." I text her back saying, "Alright, well then I look forward to the debate, your acquiescence, and the shot." Honestly I was just messing around at this point, I knew this was a battle I couldn't win.

So, she shows up, we head to the bar and I'm still trying to get her to go along with tequila. She insists on just buying me a tequila shot and buying herself some girly ****. I tease her about her inability to take an actual shot of liquor. She protests and says, "What can I say? I'm a girl." I finally relented and said, "Meh, it's okay. I like your girl parts." <facepalm> Not exactly what I meant to say. I meant to say "girly side" or something like that. Of course, what I said wasn't inaccurate either. Although those who trash on Vintage's girl probably wouldn't think that couch girl is hot either, I think they're pretty similar in quality of looks and type of looks.

I thank her for the shot. She says, "No problem, thanks for sending me that outline, that was great. Honestly, I owe you more than a drink for that." I knew very well that she meant nothing suggestive by that, but I was still determined to milk it for all it was worth. I said in a suggestive tone, "Really?" She says, "I just meant I owe you two drinks!" I said, "Whatever." A handful of time later, I see her talking with another one of my female friends. I walk up and say, "<female friend>, when a girl says that she owes you more than just a drink, how do you think I should take that?" Couch girl naturally interjects, "I just meant two drinks!" I rinse and repeat this process several times throughout the night.

I was just having fun; I long ago accepted two things... (1) Odds of me ever actually getting with her are miniscule at best, (2) Law school is a small place and she's a part of my life for another couple of years one way or another. Might as well just laugh at the situation and enjoy it rather than awkwardly avoid her. Our dynamic is fun enough to me, and the painfully platonic part of it bothers me less and less as time goes on.

Later in the evening, I spent a good bit of time with a girl I still feel that I could get with, the one I was playing racquetball with frequently until the recent finals crunch. I'm sure we'll get back to it soon. Last night we partnered for beer pong; she ****ing carried my ass, I'm an embarrassing pong player. I think of the 10 cups we sunk, I took care of two of them. How emasculating. Otherwise, really solid signals from her. I was eventually way too drunk and decided to leave. Otherwise maybe I could have escalated things, but I was honestly non-functional by the end. I told her I was taking off, she just hugged me really hard and said, "You're not going anywhere this summer, right?" I said no, she said good. Stay tuned on that front.

Last night was my last final of law school, and it involved the return of the girl I tried to get this thread to talk me out of liking. She made out with me for an hour while the new guy she's with played beer pong inside the bar, then went home with him. Later I spent several hours getting hit on by different girl who also has a boyfriend.

a) idk about you but any girl that does more than weed is an instant no-go on relationship so maybe he should start to objectify her (which he has already done before this imo)

b) you wouldn't be making this mistake with BG that everyone thinks you're making if you would put girls into ranks. theirs different tiers of girls. tier 1 is reserved for relationship/future wife material. there's also other tiers of girls i respect.

i.e. i'm friends with a girl who is 18 and married. i think getting married at 18 is ridiculously dumb but other than that she's really smart and has good morals and i regret not dating her when i could have. standard college bops are like tier 4 possibly lower
