Yeah I misunderstood you. I obviously don't suggest not talking to someone if they don't bang you. Plus I don't really think even I was talking about first time. I thought you meant waiting past a standard 2nd-3rd encounter.

@Otty: To be honest I would probably recommend St Kilda then. Chapel is pretty pretentious and a group of guys won't get into any of the good bars. You would have much more fun in St Kilda imo. Way more chilled out in terms of vibe, and people tend to get looser as well (though more drugs in Chapel IME, St Kilda is lots of backpackers/drunk irish people, always good value).

I think a fun game (not that I'm going to play it or realistically suggest playing it) would be to compare people's self evaluations of their looks compared to peer evaluations. Just in response to Colin's confident i'm a 7.5 no biggie comment haha

Cheers for the heads up mate. I'll pass on the info. I don't even know where we are staying Haha.

I would be keen to do that ratings thing as well. I'd be very curious as to where I stand.

I live in a building where we have mirrored elevators so I often find myself considering this and I have a very wide range depending on the day.

As a plus two weeks ago I got carded at BWW which for someone who is 40 is good.
08-29-2013 , 12:12 PM
Don't you mean 30? And wouldn't think you'd ever go to BWW.
08-29-2013 , 12:14 PM
BWW tho
08-29-2013 , 12:18 PM
Yeah, chain restaurants and chain stores are far more likely to card someone who is obviously old enough because of corporate policies.

No. 40.

I'm normally against chains but willing to try US chains that we don't have here just to have a point of reference. We were hoping for a Chick-fil-a but after driving around randomly for a bit under an hour we'd determine that Watertown likely doesn't have one so the choice was Chipolte or BWW

Also my dislike of chains doesn't really apply to sports bars or venues that serve mainly serve pub fare. I would like to have a BWW local to me. We just got a Real Sports Bar which I like in Toronto because you have Bay St money to make it amazing but that concept in cheap person Ottawa just sucks. It would be nice to have a real football-centric sports bar.

The price difference also reminded me of a lot of conversation in this topic about what is acceptable spending. I got a pint of Coor's Light for $3.xx which is half of what I'd pay at any sports bar at home. Normally I would expect to pay $5-7 for a bottle and $6-9 for a pint.

henry pounding coors lights at bww is contrary to every image i have of him

not that that wouldnt be a great time during football or playoffs of course

Some US corporations have absurd carding policies. I was with my grandpa a couple years ago (he's ~65) and a place wouldn't serve him a beer because he didn't have his license on him. So f*cking stupid.
08-29-2013 , 12:54 PM
thanks for specifying that your grandpa is indeed quite old

blame big government imo

I'm fairly sure a lot of 2p2 pictures me as the Monopoly Man which is not at all accurate (although Monopoly Man is one of my neighbours).

i picture you as the dos equis MIMITW

Do you not have yelp in Canada?
08-29-2013 , 05:01 PM
We have Yelp but not sure how that relates to the bolded part.

What do I say when one girl texts asking what I'm doing tonight and the answer is dating another girl? "rugby then going out with a friend" or does that sound too suspicious?

He's saying you could have googled instead of drove around for an hour
08-29-2013 , 05:07 PM
I like to just say I'm having a quiet night because I'm tired or exhausted or something. Or going out with friends if it's a weekend night. Just blatantly lie basically.
08-29-2013 , 05:07 PM
Can someone please post a picture of them self and rate them self.

You don't have to reply. Reply tomorrow and make up something about phone dying and say you did rugby then friend.

If you're not exclusive then a little suspicion is actually beneficial.

Ok. Yes that makes sense.

Watertown is a ****ty one street town in NY State so the plan was not to drive an hour but once we got off the main road was just looking at the insane number of flags people have and next thing I know we're 20 miles from the main strip.
08-29-2013 , 05:25 PM
A buddy of mine used to live in Watertown. Apparently even though a lot of the houses look like crack shacks the rent is actually relatively steep because it's a military town so a lot of people have a rental allowance which inflates the market. Also explains the flags.

Just make something up. And like henry said its beneficial for her to know you have other girls but I wouldn't rub it in her face and actually say it.
08-29-2013 , 06:50 PM
I really don't like outright lying so I generally give the vague truth ("getting drinks with a friend"). That's the exact answer I'd give if my plans were to get drinks with a male friend anyway so it's really not deceptive or anything. Also, this way if you happen to run into the girl you lied to on your date she's not like "oh I thought you were super sick and staying in tonight?"
08-29-2013 , 06:51 PM
Occasionally I just ignore it until the next day though and just say "Sorry, was super busy last night. Drinks tonight?" or whatever.
