hey Poker Reference,

hey baby deadmau mix is a great song,, I found what other people are posting are way too sappy or slow. Someone put it right when they mentioned that girls like to have sex too and you don't need marvin gaye and some stuff like that unless your in some LTR or it's some kind of specific girl..

Have you got any other ones similar?? Just similar beats like that, lyrics aren't as important. If no one else likes that kind of music just PM me some suggestions, it would be much appreciated as I need more more tracks like the one you posted and I'm sure there are at least a few others thinking the same

Cheers

I haven't heard that track before, but from that listening I'd call it prog house (the deep house guys would probably get upset with me for saying this is too musical).

And for prog house I'd tend to go with someone like Jody Wisternoff, though he's probably a little bit less.. active than this track. Less poppy. Nick Warren maybe? It's not really my genre. Both are here: http://www.hybridized.org/sets/?artist=4

Old Deadmau5 was prog. His new stuff which I don't really like is more dubstep. He comes to Ottawa a lot more frequently than you'd expect given the size of the market and I have not bothered to go see him the last two times. He is already scheduled to come back again late this year and I doubt we'll go.

Sciolist, those are pretty good, I just got about 4 hours worth of music off that site -- thanks

I'll search Old Deadmau5.. Dubstep imo is the 2nd worst music to screamo metal, so not really a fan of that, I don't think I'd like his new stuff either then.

here's my contribution, stuff like this seems to always work. At the very least it gets you moving:

Could we please not turn this into a Youtube videos thread.

Nothing tilts me more than a group of people battling each other with youtube videos.

I love the Community scene, but a "my video is funnier/better/more absurd than yours" battle is what 12 yos do, after they discovered rotten.com

I have no idea what your thought process was with this girl. Besides her doing that (and she could've just been pretty drunk), it seems it is not a good idea to go after her at this time.

So I chatted up the girl I mentioned a while back ITT today in lab. According to my group, I was pretty smooth (I was alright, IMO. I may have projected a small amount of nervousness). She just turned 21 the other day and so I invited her to come out this Saturday to celebrate a mutual friend's 21st. She already had plans to go home this weekend to celebrate her birthday with her family. But she said that she would take a rain check and come out next weekend. I goofed up by not asking for her number at that point. She seemed interested in hanging out though and I don't think she has any intention of blowing me off. I kind of don't want to wait until next weekend, and want to do something casual in the meantime. Thoughts?

thanks for the replies, all, i appreciate it.

i think it does sort of depend on the girl. i think most girls i've been with would lol @ that r&b stuff, seems too cliche. but then i'm sure for some girls it'd be perfect.

i gotta say i'm puzzled by the "hey baby" recommendation. if i was on a stimulant at the time it'd probly be awesome, but otherwise it'd be going so much faster. a girl did recommend it, so i'm taking that into consideration, but it just doesn't seem sensual enough?

i'm thinking i might make multiple playlists, and then choose the one that fits the mood. an electronic dance that's uptempo, a r&b one with a heavy beat, and then some chick is sending me hers.

mittens i don't really get the shigeto. were you serious? it has the uptempo of the other edm that was posted, but lacks any heavy downbeat, sort of just flows throughout

to be clear, though i'm a lil surprised by the responses, i'm gonna give them a try and see how it works out.

yeah, I was serious. It's just really good, interesting atmospheric background music. In my opinion you don't want anything too lyrical or controversial because it can occasionally distract from where the focus should be, nor do you want anything too aggressively rhythmic because it forces the sex into a certain tempo whereas you'd like to be able to shift freely based on what each of you are feeling rather than what the beat is compelling you to do.

FWIW, I prefer music with lyrics, heavy beats, and clearer grooves for actually listening to / dancing to.

You don't necessarily need to do anything with her until then. I'd prob just chat with her in class and maybe work with her in the lab. You know your situation better than we do.

sex music- tool stinkfest always a good one. lol jokes whatever the weather realy.

I never said guys cant follow a diet of course they can you guys are an example of that. They are perfectly capable of it but a large percentage still dont.

In other news im moving to canada next month (Calgary). Got my one year work visa, unsure whether I want to stay longer then a year or not. I cant get recognised as a lawyer over there, apparently all nz, aussie and uk lawyers have to do 1-2 years more study in order to qualify. Load of BS if you ask me as we are all common law countries. Canada must have some differences.

Anyway Ill just look for a job doing whatever. Looking foward to hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Have a solid setup women wise over there as 5 chicks from one of my overseas tours live there so this shud put me in good sted. I miss the canadian girls.

You'll probably like the Hybrid sets too on that site (hence the name). They're probably the biggest breaks act around, but they do some prog stuff too. All their albums are great.

What Americans call dubstep isn't really what we've traditionally called dubstep. The American stuff is more synth stuff than actual dub or actual bass. There's some musical dubstep too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgfBM_Ojk7c, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvlvs8hFrN8&, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viuUkzlHCAU

That most of the songs were going for sensual is actually my biggest criticism.

No one disagrees with that but a guy who can't follow a diet is also never going to actually get to a gym either -- nor is he doing to do any of the other things required.

Two years of additional schooling or do you just have to article? The LLB program is only three years so making you re-do two years is insane.

Calgary is different than the parts of Canada I live in.

An Aussie friend of mine moved over here a month ago (Calgary) looking for Accounting work (contract / temp), and hasn't had too much luck lately. There are lots of smaller recruiting firms and whatnot, but not alot of contract work.

I don't think Calgary itself is a great city in terms of looking for just a 'whatever' job given that its very much oil & gas based. Cost of living is somewhat high and its moderately expensive to go out / get around. I'm sure you could get a restaurant / bar / labor job but most people doing what you do mainly fly into Calgary for a few days then head west towards Banff, Lake Louise or Jasper to look for work out there (wages are atrocious, but cost of living / party lifestyle is great).

Feel free to PM me for more info / advice about Calgary. PS for Overseas tour was it a Contiki?
