Tbob, if you're going to ignore the best play and decide to keep seeing this girl, you need to put your foot down and not accept this behavior from her or her equally crazy friend. I would absolutely confront Katie about the bs she is spreading and also confront Jenn about her passive aggressiveness. Just make it clear that neither of their actions are going to be tolerated by you. They'll likely shape up, and if not then your play is just to remove them from your life. If you let this sort of behavior pass early on you're going to be fighting a losing battle until it all unravels.

My roommate and I were on speaker phone with a mutual friend (see- hippie stoner chick) listening to her tell a story at like 1am. Gf was in bed, but pretty sure wasn't asleep. Girl on phone was telling us about how she lost her V card a few days ago. Keep in mind all three of us (hippie chick on phone, me, roommate) are in a special place at this point. Anyway, at one point i'm pretty sure I said ILY on the phone to the chick. Roommate was saying similar **** -- it was in a fairly sarcastic tone imo (as in response to a good joke "lololo hahaha i love you dude" type), but I'm pretty sure that pissed her off.
