Sandusky made my tight end a wide receiver. [I think this is an improvement]

Sandusky blew it on 4th down (and by 'it' I mean a child's penis).

Sandusky made my kid a defensive end.

It's a sweet victory in life when someone who you've known for a couple of years sends you a Facebook friend request, even if you barely care about the person.

Of the people using Facebook who have been upgraded to timeline mode how do you use / what is the purpose of the map?

I would feel like a douche broadcasting where I go.
11-09-2011 , 11:45 AM
Meh I like filling in the map. That's the OCD part of me that likes filling in lists and categories and ****.

If people have a negative view of others tagging themselves infrequently (people who do it constantly are annoying), then I've never heard it.

So how often do you check-in to places?

I have a friend who checks in when he goes to the bank which is ******ed.

If you go to lunch is that check-in worthy?

I don't use the check-in feature personally, but I could def see using it if I was going to a sports game, restaurant, concert, anything social.

Def not the bank tho.

Yeah this is about right. Definitely not everyday mundane stuff, but anything you deem as a special occasion is cool. Either an event or your own city or traveling in another city.

Bank is absurd, and lunch, while far less absurd, is below the threshold I'd ever use it for.
11-09-2011 , 12:19 PM
idk, I've gone to restaurants 2-3 times purely based off of seeing the same place in a few of my friends' check-ins. That's why I included restaurants. From a purely social aspect, it's kind of ******ed, but if someone publishes a check-in to a restaurant, it's probably not a ****-hole, and I'm pretty much always looking for new hole-in-the-wall type places.
11-09-2011 , 12:21 PM
Yeah that's why I took care to establish that it wasn't absurd like the bank (okay, "far less absurd" still leaves room for absurdity...I was just thinking of people who check in constantly at Noodles or something). I do make a mental note of places when I see check-ins with unique places too.

WTF is this ****. A dude on my friends list changed his profile picture to this for his birthday today.

Description of this guy: he is a creepy, sad, fat man.
11-09-2011 , 01:38 PM
I would write on his wall, he is obviously lonely...make sure its personalized...

"Happy Birthday Karak!, Good Job Moderating in last few weeks!"
11-09-2011 , 01:38 PM
seems like a pretty fitting profile pic then

this post made me laugh

It is one thing to be a loser but to then seek out pity friendship is just sad.

A couple of years ago on his birthday I remember going to his wall and writing, "This is your life, and it's ending one moment at a time. Anyway, have a good birthday."

Henry,

I think checking in to restaurants/sporting venues/bars/clubs is fine. I get annoyed when people check into the post office and whatnot.

All,

When I was walking to Madison Square Garden from Hell's Kitchen yesterday there were two (not attractive) girls behind me talking. I didn't catch what they were talking about but one of the girls said "I could LITERALLY go on for days about how much I like <something>. LITERALLY DAYS"

My mind wandered to Karak and if he would say something to the girl about her blatant misuse of literally. Pretty sure I need to think less about SL.

not the biggest Dane fan on the planet, but this bit is fairly decent and applicable for sure.

It disturbs me when I think of SL when I'm not at my computer too.
11-09-2011 , 02:25 PM
Too much internet has taken its toll on me as well...
11-09-2011 , 02:50 PM
