One time a roommate of mine walked into our house while already in the middle of a phone call. I didn't listen too closely, but it seemed like he was talking to his girlfriend. He had only been dating her for a few weeks. I hear the call end with, "I love you."

He walks into the room, and said, "I love you?" He nonchalantly says, "Yeah, we say that now." I silently nod; my question obviously spoke for itself but this wasn't such a close friend that I would take it any further with an outright "WTF?" After a moment passed, he added, "Actually my mom and I have said that to each other for a while..."

He just smirked at me as I shrunk in my chair and felt like an *******. Gotta give it up to him for selling it with the immediate, "Yeah, we say that now."
