Hey guys,
I'm going back to school in the fall for one more semester. All of my friends graduated and left, I don't know anyone, and don't have internet poker anymore. What should I do with my time?

I usually hate NFL preseason because I sit there and worry the whole time about my team's starting QB getting hurt in completely meaningless action.

The upside of having a QB like Tarvaris ****ing Jackson under center is that I can pretty much just relax with some beers and enjoy seeing my team back on the field without fear of much of anything.

i'm a vikings fan. you'll definitely be able to do just that.

Thing is, our QB play was so ****ing bad last year that Jackson won't be a significant downgrade. Not with all of the upgrades on the offensive line and the addition of Zach Miller who was able to be consistently productive even with a stiff like Campbell throwing to him in Oakland.

Hasselbeck is one of my all-time favorite athletes, but he had totally lost it last year and I spent most of the season calling for his benching. He was magic in that New Orleans playoff game, and I hope he can pull out a few good games for Tennessee as well, but the difference between Hass and Jackson at this point in time isn't that big.

With that said, if Jackson goes down it will pretty much just lead me to shrug and say, "Okay, send in Whitehurst. Whatever."

the last five QBs Ive seen start were jimmy clausen, brian stpierre, matt moore, david carr, and jake delhomme so everyone else can gmafb about bad qb play
08-11-2011 , 06:48 PM
So far as I can tell, the Bears have never had a significantly above average QB.

It is amazing that the Bears actually truly NEVER have had a great QB. I have a hard time naming another team that I can say that about. Maybe Tampa Bay? Houston hasn't had a great one (since Moon counts as being a part of the franchise now in Tennessee), but they're pretty new. That's about it.

Also I think Delhomme was a good QB for a couple of years. Not great, but he did his part in getting them to the NFC title game at least. He wasn't as good as Beuerlein, but he stands out way above those other four who have followed.

he had a couple good years, but then just dropped completely off a cliff and his last seasons worth of play is definitely equivalent if not worse

Brag: we're having a tournament at the office for the game we're making, I've gone 4-0 and am in the finals

Yeah, Hasselbeck was the same last year and is probably off to do more of the same in Tennessee now.

Here's hoping I don't have four bad starting QBs in a row I can name to follow Hass in a couple of years.

David Greene comeback imo

I cannot believe the draft pick we spent on that guy was a 3rd rounder.

(I'm saying that in hindsight though, as I remember that I didn't dislike the pick at the time.)

Anyone remember the hefty lefty from Kentucky?

round mound of touchdown imo
