How did we get from "I don't know many country music fans" to "I know this dude in the Klan" in 2 posts?
02-24-2011 , 09:46 AM
Cause theres probably a small correlation between the two.

Had an event I had to go to at the campus bar, and had a paper due that night which obviously wasn't done, so I wrote it there and tried to hang out with my friends too.

I got the grade back today, 84% (an A), sick life.

/brag, ty for listening

I can't tell if it's a brag or a beat that an 84 is considered an A
02-24-2011 , 12:49 PM
veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery faint if any. I'd set o/u for r being <.1
02-24-2011 , 01:11 PM
Yeah but if you ran a tetrachoric (assuming both racism and liking country have underlying normal distributions) then it probably shoots up to about .4.
02-24-2011 , 01:13 PM
Also the percentage of people in the KKK that would select country as their favorite music genre is probably >80%

Maybe, but the conversation went country music ---> KKK, whereas this logic is reversed.

I'm not really trying to start ****, I was just curious how we jumped so quickly to that. While I have no personal affiliation or anything, the Klan is still somewhat active where I grew up so the subject caught my eye.

WEll if you are wondering how I made the jump its cause of the drive your tractor to school day. Cuase this kid was a farmer and constantly talking about tractors/4 wheelers/pick up trucks...so I mean its not a stretch...Its not like is said: Speaking of Country Music how bout dem KKK peeps. The talk in this thread made me think of him, unfortunately, so I said it.

Brad Paisley and Keith Urban can keep up with absolutely anybody on the guitar.

Both of them absolutely blow me away in concert.
02-24-2011 , 02:10 PM
And your goal is to blow them away right?

Def a brag. Either a hard class or a good school imo.
02-24-2011 , 02:24 PM
as long as we all agree country takes the least amount of skill

Haha, what? No. I guess it might for the likes of Tim McGraw, who neither plays an instrument most of the time nor does he write his own songs...but Nashville songwriters are amazingly talented.
02-24-2011 , 02:50 PM
i agree that they're talented. i'm just saying it takes the least amount of combined skill by all parties involved to make a country song.

it's similar to me saying professional basketball players have the most athletic skill.

<50's = F
50's = D
60's = C
70's= B
80's = A
90's = A+

that is the translation from when the school shifted from letter to percentage, not sure about precise translation to American GPA. I was actually scared to look at my mark because I didn't do any editing and talked about random things on the last 2 pages.

(84 probably is closer to a A- but that doesn't sound as impressive)
