i recovered from covid in January and got my first shot this month and will get 2nd shot next month just in time for 1st week of wsop.

I know of other people who gotten covid and gotten vaccine also.

I am not a proponent or opponent of vaccination. I believed my dr. and took it in early January.

You can also look for specific vaccine in the search ( Particularly if you are looking for one dose vaccination due to time constraints) and for sure consult your physician.

Nutty conspiracy theories and social media driven misinformation aside, it boggles my mind how many poker players fail to understand probability when discussing risk/benefit of vaccination.

There are almost no medical treatments that have zero potential side effects plus 100% efficacy or risk reduction. The evidence is clear that the risks to an individual associated with vaccination pale in comparison to the risks of COVID infection. Not to mention motivations for “the greater good”.

I’ve seen so many blanket statements in response to the WSOP policy stating that “it is nonsensical because vaccinated people can still get COVID”. This is akin to saying “non-smokers can still get lung cancer” so the decision not to smoke is irrelevant. In fact, this analogy understates vaccine protectiveness given that the prognosis of lung cancer is similar regardless of smoking status whereas the risk reduction from COVID severe illness, hospitalization and death provided by vaccination is remarkable.

It’s mind-boggling and infuriating.
