Looks like the Reunion prize pool was capped at $5 million, meaning WSOP took $448,000 off the table. Admin and service fees were really now just 11.5%, but with a $5 million cap, that changes.

I hate tourneys that cap the prize pool - super unfair.

Reunion Prize Pool: $5,448,660
12,973 entries at the $420 prize pool take… no cap

I added up the actual payouts - exactly $5 million - not $5.48 million

honestly if they did that I'd sooner think it was an error

I mean, the Venetian announced ahead of time they were doing it, so this would be a whole other level of scummy

Where'd you get your numbers? I got them from here:

https://www.wsop.com/tournaments/pay...of=197315&rr=5

And when I added it all up I only got $4,126,433

Ok now I’m curious. Bc the WSOP took in $6,486,500 from the players with a posted prize pool of $5,448,660… they already grabbed 1 Milly +, If they underpaid the 5.45M it’s gross. Also, I’d like my 2 Buy Ins back please

There are some players that cashed on day 1 and then were knocked out before the end of the day. They got paid the first day. Those payouts may not be included in the final payout list.

Like mentioned above, you missed all the day 1 payouts. For day 1C alone over 880 players made the money.

The prize pool wasn't capped.

If there was Day 1 payouts, then I'll delete the thread

Pokernews confirms there were day 1 payouts. For instance, their write-up says 881 made the money on Day 1C.

My bad, they WSOP initially didn't list all of the payouts. I missed positions 641 to 1141 :/

It's still obscene that the rake was nearly twice what the bracelet winner won. What is this, England? Australia?

That is a meaningless comparison. So what if rake is more than 1st place. This will always happen with large fields. The only number that is meaningful in terms of rake is the actual rake percentage. In this event it was 16%. Most $500 tournaments in the world take a higher percentage than that.

There were a few typos in the listing above. But the true grand total to day 2 was $4,129,973. The total pool was $5,448,660. The difference was all the money paid out on day 1A, 1B and 1C.

You might find the % high ... fine... but to conflate that to the total rake is inappropriate. We as players do still have options to what events and what casino's we choose to play in and the WSOP is fairly open about the rake for all events. It's just not hard to find and to make an informed choice.

RealMcCoy is so correct !

I see many players are always criticizing everything.

And I respect the freedom of choice and opinion.

How the schedule is or how the vaccination policy is or how the mask policy is or how the structure is and why they have to submit personal info to CLEAR or why vaccination card is being counter verified with the issuing state etc etc.

If someone doesn’t like WSOP for any reason ,express your opinion and just don’t play .
