Credit Card 2.95% can add up but if you have any form of cash back it can help reduce it. Depending on the card you could even earn more than the fee itself.

Interesting, if using a CC to buy into a WSOP tourn,
Is it a hotel(travel) or generic purchase, or cash advance ( worst)?

I think Kevmath said on Twitter it is considered POS.

I use Venture which gives 2% cash back. Never had an issue using it at the WSOP in the past and never came up as cash advanced. So the 2.95% WSOP is basically a 0.95% fee. It has gotten harder to find much better than 2% cash back IMO but it is possible. I have not looked in awhile though so unsure which ones are the best.

Everyone iv heard talk about it has always mentioned it was not a cash advance. Not sure the type it is listed as though as I have not been this year yet and its been awhile since I used it last. If it is listed as Travel than that makes it even better as cards tend to favor travel points more than other types. I will have to check my cards next time I go to see how they list it.

Would be interesting to see how the Total Rewards Credit Card works with the WSOP. Normally you get 5 RC per $1 when using it at a Total Rewards Destination. This would be the only card I know off hand that will give more back then the fee if they did. This is when redeeming the RC for things that give a 1/100 rate (some food places and hotel stays).

I played at the WSOP first week of October. At the main WSOP Cashier cage (after waiting in line about an hour), I told the cashier I wanted to deposit about $7k in cash into "an account" and use it to register for events, rebuys, and use the kiosks. The cashier created a TBIC account. I registered for 3 events and each registration incurred a $3 fee. I was unable to use a kiosk to register or re-buy; it is possible that the cashier did not link/activate my TBIC account for use by kiosks; it is also possible that kiosks are not supposed to work with TBIC accounts and/or rebuys. I had to wait in cashier line twice more for rebuys, each one incurring $3 fee.

The WSOP Registration page mentions TBIC accounts as well as "Tournament Accounts", with DNeg touting the benefit of a Tournament Account. No mention is made if a TA incurs the $3 fee, nor whether a TA is accessible via kiosks or the Bravo app. I have emailed Tyler for clarification.

I initially disapproved of the $3 fee since I had funded the TBIC with cash and had to still wait in line for a human cashier to register me, but I also didnt mind not carrying cash. Rather than become upset at the $15 in fees, I chose to keep my calm zen state. I do wish kiosk access was available as it would have saved quite a bit of time when rebuying.

Hope this helped.

Thanks for the update. But I think they can link the cash deposit with the Bravo account.

I suspect that the cashier didnt link/activate my TBIC account with the kiosk/Bravo system.

Does anyone know if the kiosks or Bravo app permit:
a) registration for Satellites (such as the Main Event sats)?
b) registration for Daily MTT tourneys?
c) rebuy for a (bracelet) event?
d) cancellation of a registration if done before event start?

No one on-site seemed to know answers to any of these. Am thinking of asking PokerNews to do some investigative journalism!

I wired $$ a couple of weeks ago to WSOP. I believe you need to set up TBIC account at the RIO cage in person, have it linked to your Bravo account and then use the kiosks for registrations, (+$3). Posted this question in another thread, no responses yet, but, I will let you know in a few days when I am out there.

Thanks! And if you can find out about refunds, that would be great.

I asked Tyler about cancelling registration; here is my question and his reply [Thanks Tyler, and I hope you dont mind that I posted here]:

3. If I register for an event and need to cancel my registration before start of the event, can the kiosks or the Bravo app be used for cancellation? Is there a separate area/line/window dedicated to cancellations?
- No and no. If you need to cancel your registration please email me. Regardless, if you don’t arrive by the 3rd level of the tournament, your entry will be voided and chips picked up.

Hope this helps y'all.

After wiring $$ to WSOP cage, go to Belize room (empty at 8pm), verify vaccination status with Clear app or otherwise. They will give you printed tickets to show.

Make sure your Bravolive account is linked to your Total Rewards #.

Go to main WSOP registration cage, ask them to transfer the $$ to TBIC. They will ask for the vaccination verification tickets.

Use the BravoLive app to log into your account (mine repeatedly does not recognize me and asks me to change my password). Once logged in, navigate to the tournament you want, click register, select “use TBIC”, they will send an email confirmation.

Go to one of the kiosks, lots in Belize room, two by bathrooms in rotunda, and two down by Amazon room. Swipe your TR card, select the tournament you registered for, and then it prints your tickets.
$3 charge for the service, that’s it.

After finished playing, and presuming you have TBIC left, you have to go back to the cage and ask them to wire funds back to your bank. They won’t give you chips or cash. I believe you have to do this before end of series otherwise theR$ roll over to next year.

At the WSOP again. Talked with some staff, explained that I am posting on forums, they were cooperative.

Assuming you have funded and validated a TBIC account... via wire, credit card, or cash (as I did):

Bracelet event registration and rebuy can be done via Bravo app or Bravopokerlive.com(the app will take you to the website).

Daily Deepstack events can be registered via Bravo. Same day only.

Scheduled multitable satellites (paying out lammers) can be registered via Bravo. Same day only.

Single-table "satellites" paying out lammers can only be registered at cashier cage nearest Pavillion 5,6,7 doorway. Signs are now posted nearby. One manager mentioned that they dont want to call them SitNGo's since they pay in lammers.

Cancellation of a registration can be done at the main cage or via email to Tyler.

Unlike my visit in early Oct, today I registered at the main cage for the events I wanted using cash. Then I deposited additional cash into a TBIC account to allow convenience if I wanted to rebuy; $3 fee to rebuy via Bravo vs standing in line. Any unused funds will be cashed out on my last day; since I funded the account with cash, I will get cash back.

On an unrelated note, I am very eager to see how Rio and WSOP staff and players celebrate Halloween. Will try to get some pics of anything noteworthy.

I funded TBIC with cash at my trip three weeks ago, and cashed out upon departure.

My change this time was to buy my event regs first with cash (saving $3/transaction...i worked hard for my money! ) then funded the TBIC for rebuy(s) and scheduled satellites.

One dealer was dressed as John McEnroe, which was mildly amusing only because it was the Super Seniors tourney and we remembered who JM was.

A lot of people were dressed as degenerate gamblers

When charging a buy in on credit card, does WSOP allow you to split total between 2 cards ?

I hate being the preachy guy, if you have to do that, is gambling the best use of your credit?

That being said, most banks allow you to request a credit increase on their websites, and basically give you a near instant answer. Costs nothing to try.

Lol, you are completely right, but I’m retired & funds not a problem at all.
I’m just too lazy to try to wire & didn’t want to carry that much cash.

Just got a new cash back cc (Last week )that I want to use &
Credit limit is only 8k. My Question still open ?

Request a credit increase anyway. It's not like there's a guy that reads the requests and says "I remember that guy, he just got his card". They might give it to you anyway. It's all decided by algorithm.
