The place doesn't feel full at all. I don't think they will repeat the WSOP here in Bahamas.

With that said, it doesn't look like a complete failure either. There were hundreds of players at the WSOP tables today. I only saw 2 cash games tables though.

I was able to load the WSOP Plus app with bitcoin so I think I'll buy in to a tournament instead of playing cash. At least for now.

Craps table is $15 minimum bet, will shoot some dice for sure.

For anyone looking to buy cheaper (priced) booze and smokes, Knowles Liquor Store is where you need to go. It is 4 blocks on the left side across the (2nd bridge coming from Atlantis) and Camels are 14$ (as opposed to 19$ at the Super Value or 23$ at Atlantis) and wine/booze is also significantly cheaper than the liquor store (Island Wine and Spirits) beside the Super Value Food Store.

Yeah, got that wrong after confirming with my buddy : smokes cheaper at Super Value (11$), but booze cheaper at Knowles Liquor Store. So there we go

Saw the casino doesn't have a poker room. Does that mean cash games are put on by the WSOP? Do we use Atlantis casino chips to play poker?

Don't know what the point of wiring money to the casino would be if its not.

I remain back home in the USofA.
I was never tempted to go. Is this series a bust? Got the sense that they were desperate to have players show up.

The issue is that they tried to run this event at the same time as what has become a major series in Vegas. It’s clear they thought the WSOP brand and the handful of high rollers which promote it would carry the day and put a dent in the Wynn WPT. To this point, that would not seem to be the case.

Who knows. Maybe the WPT will try to answer the WSOP’s salvo with one of their own next summer. I mean, why wouldn’t they? There have been highly successful competing series run during the summer WSOP. There’s no reason the WPT couldn’t get involved in a big way with the Wynn next summer.

Well they met the guarantees in the Mystery Bounty (5m) and Mini ME (1m), so yeah, a success thus far. It felt a little empty on Sunday, but by Monday-Tuesday, it was quite packed with almost 1k wave for the Mystery Bounty. God I am so glad they did not deduct the free buffets + room cost thus far...

Man I hate tournament poker. One silly mistake and you're out.

Will stick to cash games for the rest of my trip.

While I didn’t run deep, I really enjoyed the trip. They were using a new electronic sign-in and table verification that was very efficient when the Atlantis internet worked. The dealers were outstanding - most were from the EU and were some of the best I’ve seen in large field WSOP events.I only did the buffet once but it was decent, not great and an efficient way to eat when the Atlantis was charging $5 for a can of coke. If they run it again in 2024 (debatable but probably likely given the investment) I’ll come back.

I think they will most likely run it again, given the unexpected big fields (13.2 mil guaranteed in the 25k, so easily surpassed the 10 mil). They also have a 5 year contract with Atlantis, at least according to second hand info...

Judging from the outside, high roller turnout was surprisingly robust. I'm happy that the series hasn't been an embarrassing flop.

More options can only be a good thing for the player pool.

I think I underestimated the high roller appeal and the proximity to Florida/Europe, which make it appealing to Atlantic-based players.

Wynn are smashing guarantees left and right so far though. Poker is just big right now in general. Huge interest.

Can anyone explain to me if it's legal for me to play the online bracelet events on GG while here in the Bahamas as an American citizen?

I asked the WSOPhelp desk and the answer they gave me was sketchy af. They told me to just say the hotel was my residence lol.

The lack of cash games is ridiculous.

Tons of people wanting to join but we're capped at 2 tables.

Considering the unexpected huge tournament fields, it does not really come as a surprise.

Played in a game the other night that was taking $25 per half hour timed rake. No thanks.

Really, they started off at $15/30 minutes timed raked on the first evening, at least in a 2-5 game... Greedy!

Yes, it is legal to play on GG in the Bahamas. Location, not citizenship is the determining factor. USA off-limits thanks to Republican politicians.

A little scandal yesterday in the 10k PLO, as they decided to change the structure without warning at the start of the tournament, making the blinds 40 minute levels (as opposed to 30 minutes) and wanting to only play 9 levels for the day in order to keep the registration open for the next day. Of course, they noticed lots of peeps flying out to the Wynn, so pulled a WSOP move on us. Which, tbh, I was happy with (as am not going to the Wynn), but 4 players were completely outraged with the situation, understandably.

Dnegs got up though and went to address the situation with the floor manager and they switched it back to the original planned 30 minute blind levels after 3 levels. Ohhh WSOP...

I’m not there, but one gets the sense this whole WSOP paradise event has been the DNEGs show from the start, given the promotion he’s done and the GG poker tie-in. Clearly it hasn’t had much effect on the WPT to this point. Goes to show that, while a little competition is a good thing, even the WSOP can make scheduling miss-steps.

I want to respond to this old post for those who don't have experience with non-US facing sites as American citizens post BF. Yes you can play on GG but the process is not instant. Plan at least a day ahead. There will be some verification steps to handle (by email), and you can deposit via BTC or by having a GG employee manually transfer from your WSOP+ account, which would be my suggestion.

Plan a couple days ahead to load your WSOP+ account. Add some extra money for whatever reason you might want some extra cash. I think there's no reason to land in the Bahamas with more than a couple hundred bucks in small bills. You can move WSOP+ funds to Atlantis chips to cash and reverse the process.

Americans cannot use LuxonPay.

Nope. Bahamas is not the USA. Different country, different regulations. And in fact you can deposit with crypto into your WSOP+ app/withdraw in cryptos

I do not have a GG account. How easy is it to set up an account in the Bahamas? I am a non-American.
