According to some sources, it’s going to Bally’s/Paris.

Pretty good news IMO: Closer to the strip, more accommodation options, better restrooms, some rooms are even bigger than the pavilion, more food options, etc.

I'll definitely miss the Rio though. All the quirks and non-sense actually make the WSOP fun: running to the bathroom with a horde of zombie chasing you at bathroom break, etc.

There aren't a lot of bathrooms in Bally's/Paris convention centers either. Plus, there's no close-by area outside like at the Rio, where they set up the temporary bathrooms.

I could see a scenario where the tournaments are played at Paris & cash games, satellites, and daily deepstacks take place @ Bally's.

If you look at the size of the spaces at each property, Paris's 3 largest rooms are 110,000Sq.ft, the Pavilion, Amazon, and Brasilia rooms are 113,000, so similar in total size. Bally's really only has about 80,000Sq.ft in the main convention space, the other large rooms are not nearby, two are actually in the Jubilee tower, but the 80k is easily large enough to hold all of the side action. Will be interesting to see the final plan. In the meantime, we can enjoy one last trip around the Rio

How many casinos does CET own on that middle section of the strip? Besides Bally's and Paris, there is The Linq, Flamingo, and Harrahs. I'm probably missing some, but putting a major tournament there seems like a good idea.

Planet Hollywood next door, and then Caesar's Palace on the other side.

I think they still have to get rid of one of them. My guess is Harrah's (which is where it all started) or Flamingo.

The convention center has a massive parking structure basically built on top of it, from my understanding.

There's plenty of parking. It just might not be free or as convenient as at the Rio.

Middle of the strip been booming this year...granted places like Harrahs/Bally’s cater to low end...it’s high end Wynn/Venetian that have suffered more as they rely on wealthy customers and need more foreign travel

But the reason it seems to always stay at the Rio is that the Rio needs the business...it’s possible Rio is closed or sold for a small amount

Planet Hollywood is the best candidate to be sold. Kind of dangling off the end of all their properties. They just finished a Harrah's remodel, and they finished a new convention center attached to it. LinQ and Flamingo are attached to the LinQ promenade. Cromwell makes too much Club money to sell off. Bally's and Paris are connected. Caesars is the mother ship. That leaves little old P-Ho on the auction block. Also wouldn't be surprised if Bally's was re-branded Horseshoe, since they sold the Bally's name.

tbh would be a great idea. closer to other casinos, when you bust the 5k wsop can quickly play a 400 fo at venetian
