You might think that, at this stage of the tournament, only the best dealers would be working. But apparently not ...

All In and Mucked

Quote:
J.C. Tran opened the pot with a raise from middle position, and the action passed to Estelle Denis. She moved all in, and the table folded back around to Tran. Somewhere in the folding frenzy though, Denis' cards were pulled into the muck, leaving her all in with no cards.

"Floor!"

This was a matter for Tournament Director Steve Frezer, and he was at the table in no time. He listened carefully to the dealer and to Denis before making his decision. The rule is that the player is 100% responsibly for protecting their own cards, and Denis failed to do that. A long but civil argument ensued with Denis gesturing wildly, shaking her head, and glancing back and forth at her foe, the dealer.

By rights, Frezer probably could have taken her whole stack, but he showed a little mercy and only took enough chips out of her stack to cover the initial call. The remaining 110,000 of her chips were returned to a very upset Denis.
Aside from Ms. Denis, are there any other women in the remaining field of 185?

Ever since Ivey collapsed in the 2005 Main Event, I don't think much of any pro's big stack even at this stage of the tournament.

This might apply more for Ivey than others because Ivey seems so willing to gamble with small edges at best. In the last hand of the day, at the 6,000/12,000 level, Ivey called a T286,000 all-in holding 88 (exact details not available). He was up against AQo and won. But, it's easy for you stack to disappear when your getting ~24 big blinds in pre-flop with medium pocket pairs.

Yes, Ivey's play on that hand is only rational if he's trying to win. Oh wait...

Reguarding the turning away of hundreds of players: Casinos that turn away gamblers, who have money in hand, are run by idiots. The Dumb clerks who made this decision should be fired; WSOP commissioner, tournament director, etc...

Unlike a previous poster, I wouldn't say that there are "lots" of big name pros left. It wouldn't be surprising to have another final table of no-names, or including at most one "name" pro.

A huge pot just went down on Blue #30. It was raised preflop from early position by Fernando Gordo to 56,000. Bertrand Grospellier, Scott Cook and Don Tran all called the raise, creating a 4-way pot with more than 225,000 chips in it before a single community card came down.

The flop was {3-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {K-Spades}. Gordo, the preflop raiser, had to act first. He bet 155,000 and got calls from Grospellier and Cook both. Only Tran folded.

The turn {3-Diamonds} paired the board. Gordo fired another 250,000 into the middle. Again Grospellier and Cook both called, creating a gigantic pot of almost 1.5 million chips heading into the river {8-Diamonds}.

Gordo, perhaps sensing something amiss, finally slowed down. He checked. Grospellier also checkd, bringing the action to Cook.

"I can't do it," Cook said after a few moments. He also checked, taking us to showdown.

Gordo: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} - two pair, aces and threes
Grospellier: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} - two pair, aces and threes
Cook: {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} - a full house, fives ful of threes

Cook dragged the pot to increase his count to about 3 million.
I love this stuff.

Um, bet that river?

Really looking forward to this years broadcast so we can hear Hachem talk about how he never catches a break even though he won the WSOP 4 years ago and got into the top 100 this year. He always seems to tell everyone how bad he runs though!

There's a big side of me that really wants to see Ivey win, but there's a small side that's making me think "He's already filthy rich, so **** him. Let someone else take it down."

Does anyone know when day 6 ends? At how many players or levels, which ever comes first.

Day 6 ended after 5 levels.

I believe the plan for day 7 is to play down to 27 players.

Ummmm..... they BOTH checked in front of him. He can't possible have put one of them on KK. Unless that is, he is a total idiot. Oh...wait....

NOOOOOOOO! I hope not, they need to play at least 5 levels today and tomorrow could still be a marathon to the November 9.
