Combined day 1c/1d chip counts

There's more than a few errors (including a 19-handed table), so expect a corrected list later today.

From Cardplayeronline:
Along with the usual shenanigans that are on display when thousands of people crowd the floor at the Rio, the usual odd hands found there way into the mix as well, and in one case, Glen Chorny was able to win a pot without even making a call. Chorny limped in for 300 and action was folded around to a player in the cutoff who raised to 800. Both blinds folded and the dealer took the cutoff’s hand and mixed the cards together, leaving Chorny with his hand. Clearly not realizing Chorny had limped in, the dealer started moving the pot over to the cutoff. When everyone realized what she was doing, she stopped and a floor person was called over. About five minutes later, after much debating and recounting of the mistake, the floor staff ruled that Chorny won the pot since he was the only one left with a live hand after the dealer mixed the raiser’s hand in with the deck. Chorny offered to just take back his 300 and let the cutoff take his raise back and the rest of the pot, but he was awarded the pot which included the 800 raise from the cutoff.

Who would make that decision with a straight face?

Even so...you would never take the uncalled raise portion (800) away from the player. That doesn't make any sense.

lots of things at WSOP don't make any sense...and you would think they would train the floor people better than that, especially at the biggest poker event of the year

BOOM!

"All in and a call!" yelled the dealer over at table 240 in the Brasilia room. Mark Landgraf was all in holding A Q against Alexander Yaroshetskiy's A J. With a dominating position in the hand, Landgraf improved to trip queens on the flop of K Q Q. Yaroshetskiy did pick up a royal flush draw though. The turn hit the Q, giving Landgraf quads and leaving Yaroshetskiy drawing to only one out. The poker gods must have been looking down on Yaroshetskiy today because the T landed on the river giving him the royal flush! The table erupted and one player even fell back out of his chair as he was leaning back in it. Yaroshetskiy is now up to 240,000 and Landgraf dropped all the way to 14,300.

np, just wanted to straighten it out...Mark is pissed at how it was reported...it would take a real drooler to stick 190bb's in pre with AQo. Pokernews reported it that way too, I already emailed them.

Crack reporting once again!

The stupid Jack Links logo is very effective chip camoflage. During a STT I played in, a player missed a stack of about 30 bright orange chips that were pushed in.

what does this mean?
Aren't they the "start of Day 3" seat assignments and the remainder of the seats at those tables will be filled tonight with people surviving Day 2B?

$370k jump from 10th to 9th, then only $37k more for 8th, just another $100k bump for 7th. 6th place only pays $300k more than 9th. Isn't this much, much flatter than in previous years?

This structure would seem to discourage tight play 9handed, and prob. make it relatively stress-free for those with <25bbs to ship it in various spots.
The usual situation where just moving up a spot represents a $500,000+ pay-jump is no longer there, which may also remove lots of the "life EV" calculations that often go into Main Event final table decisions.
