Just curious has anyone found an effective way to eat dinner on the 2:00 PM events with only a 15 minute break? It’s a challenge every year. Is there any way to get food delivered to your seat? At least when it was at the Rio you could get All American Dave delivered. Now I find myself sprinting to the crepe place on Paris side and it really isn’t that good.

Ordering online at the daves hot chicken and sprinting there and back is one option.

Your best option is to just bring dinner with you. Whether that's super basic like a protein bar, nuts, dried fruit, and such, or a sandwich maybe. I find the boxes that contain some chicken or tuna salad and a few crackers to be a really good option to hold you over until the session is complete. Available at all full service grocery stores for $1-2.

You could also order from anywhere and have Door Dash or Uber Eats deliver it to the Ridesharing side entrance at Horseshoe.

Yes, but you will probably have to miss some hands. It's going to be tough to ensure the delivery arrives during a break. And the driver won't want to wait an extra 10 minutes until the break starts. Maybe you could communicate with the driver, promise a bigger tip, and get it delivered to you at the table? No idea, as I don't use these services except in dire circumstances.

Seems similar to All American Dave just without delivery to your table. This might be best option so far. Really wish WSOP made one of the breaks around dinner time 30 minutes long. How do you expect 1,000+ players in the $1500 O8 for example to eat something without missing hands? It’s not like you can wait until 2:00 AM when it’s time to bag. Hell by that time I’m ready for my 2nd dinner!

If you cant bring snacks as Greg suggested (how big a meal are you actually planning to eat in the few minutes you will have remaining after standing in the restroom line to wash your hands???), have a friend or loved one bring you food?

Personally I don't need a dinner for the 2 pm tournaments. When do they end? Midnight? 2 am? I'd just carry a Nutrigrain if I really felt like eating something. Otherwise a simple sammich that are sold in gift shops, etc. Maybe wrap it up in a styrofoam sheet to keep it semi-cool?

Uncrustables, fresh fruit, nutrigrain bars or similar, beef jerkey...I typically have some combination of those in my backpack.

Last year there was a guy at a table next to mine who brought one of those mini-igloo coolers and had a full meal packed in there. I also saw several people with the smaller lunchbox type soft coolers.

Are you not gonna eat for 13 hours+ after a grueling day of poker? And then not exactly healthy to eat at 2am before sleep nor are there many options open anymore now.

Its about 11.5 hours with breaks/color ups/bagging so it'll end at 1:30am or so.

I would just eat a decent sized lunch (not too much though where I get a food coma) and then bring some snackable things for when I get hungry. Trying to eat a bigger meal at the table or on a 15 minute break is too much of a worry or hassle, in my opinion. The other option, if anyone feels a regular meal is needed, just leave 10-15 minutes before the break so you beat the rush and get closer to half an hour

13 hours of sitting on my butt isn't really "grueling" in my book. I normally stay up until 1 am every day anyway, so I guess I'm a night person. I used to play the Daily Deepstacks that started at 2 and didn't finish until after 4 or 5 am. I don't know when they ended for certain because I never won one, but I've made a couple final tables.

Buy a back pack - Uber to one of the grocery stores like Albertson or VONS both are less than 2 miles from the Horseshoe. Stock up on snacks, fruit trays, etc store them in your room frig. and you are set for the series.

There's a CVS or similar attached to the Horseshoe.

Sandwich in a Ziplock bag in a plastic container in a thermal bag with freeze pack with a strap from Amazon with chips, peanut butter bars and mixed nuts to snack on.

If that fits in your backpack with your other stuff then great, mine doesn't because I have a smallish backpack with a hoodie/sweatshirt in it for when it gets freezing, so have to carry both, not that big of a deal.

There was an asian/noodle restaurant in Horseshoe that had an online ordering and pickup option that worked well for me last year. Order ahead of the break, and it would be sitting in a warming area ready to pick up. It was edible and did the job, which is a step up from some of the other convenient options. However, when I went to the Horseshoe web site to find the name of the place, I didn't see it there at all, which leads me to believe it probably closed. So that sucks. It would be so like Caesars to have the closest restaurant space to their ballrooms empty during the one major event they host each year where all the attendees are essentially forced to eat meals nearby. Last year Guy Fieri's new place didn't open until very late in the WSOP schedule, and it's looking like they'll do it again this year with this space.

So yeah...sounds like you're likely stuck with having to bring your meal, or if you're staying at Horseshoe, having something in your refrigerator. I didn't realize you got screwed with dinner for those later starts, as I haven't played any event that starts later than noon. It's similar for lunch on the first break for 10:00 AM starts, but that's not a big deal as I usually have a larger breakfast and can make do with something as simple as some beef jerky and fruit for a lunch.

Having the fridge in your room at the Horseshoe is great and I'll miss it in my Paris room this time. When I made my reservations Paris was actually a little cheaper which was strange. I am bringing a cooler though. My tournament will have a 10 am start and Clavain said it perfectly. Eat a pretty big breakfast and pack some snacks (I do nuts, protein bars, etc) to get you through the afternoon. The short breaks are just long enough for hitting the bathroom and not usually long enough to buy something to eat. Just too many people. I also packed sandwiches on some days.

Doesn't sound familiar. Where was it? There's a chinese place in the food court, and some other places in Paris.

If breaks are only 15-20 minutes you can't get to your room and back without missing hands.

Why do you think Paris doesn't have refrigerators?

It was M.Y. Asia, right next to Binion's Steakhouse. We ate there last year, and it was fine, and seemed a good option to do the call ahead and noticed the "pick up" station for to-go orders. It did in fact close after only being open 5 months.

I thought only some of the rooms at Paris had a fridge. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Have never seen a microwave at any of the strip hotels.

I found the name of it on an old floor map for the Horseshoe. It was M.Y. Asia and was right next to Binion's Steakhouse. Coming from the Ballys rooms, it was just past the stairs down to the shops and food court.

I was able to get to my room in the Resort Tower and back during 20 minute breaks several times last year. It would depend on where I was seated, whether I was involved in the last hand or not, and whether I was going to be in the big blind on the first hand after the break. Whenever I could, I'd go up just to use my own bathroom, grab a cold bottle of water from the fridge, and have a few minutes of quiet before heading back down. The walk there and back was good after all the sitting, and I was never close to missing a hand. Usually the breaks ran long and I was still waiting with the masses in the hallway before they let us back in.

Oh yeah, I remember now. I looked over the menu and they didn't have anything I liked so I erased it from my memory.
