Last year (if I am remembering correctly) there was Daily Tournament that ran $235 and I was thinking it was late afternoon? Prize Pools were consistently 250k to 350k.

Which one will have the best prize pool/field this year?

- $250 No-Limit Hold'em at 1 p.m.
- $200 No-Limit Hold'em at 4 p.m. (Big Blind Ante)
- $365 No-Limit Hold'em at 7 p.m. (Accelerated Format)

The 1pm $250 will replace the 2pm $235 you are remembering from last year. It consistently played until the following morning - it's a beast of a daily deep stack.

The 4:00 DDS has a field composed of a lot of players who (a) busted out of that day's bracelet events before 4:00, and (b) busted out of the 1:00 DDS either after the end of the rebuy period or at a point where they would rather start fresh rather than buy in again. From a field strength perspective, the 4:00 will be a softer/weaker field than the 1:00. But the 1:00 will be bigger and have larger payouts.

If you will be at WSOP during the colossus I think that helps build the field ALOT

Not really, from what I remember. Small fields the first week or so.

Are there any daily PLO events? I'm guessing probably not because I haven't really heard of anything yet.

Anyone know what the rake is for the $250 DDS?
Did they just raise the rake by $15?
WSOP Daily Tournaments Quote

No they did not. I think the entire $15 is going to the prize pool--structure sheets are online if you want to dig that deep. This year 19.2% is taken from the $250 and not going to the prize pool. Here's a link for all Rio dailies with vig%

http://www.rainbowspuppiessunshine.c...8&s_Text=daily

In 2017 it was 20.4%, in 2016 & 2015 it was 19.1% for the $235.

The $200 buy in seems to be the best value this year

Is OP correct in $250-350,000 pools for these? These don't look to be worth anyone's time, wow.

Edit: I see the first day had crazy low entrants and that they went up significantly afterwards.

Yeah, those numbers look low. I usually figure on 1000 entries at least on the $250.

Poker may have peaked.

Well I was considering a Daily, maybe 2, on the 27th instead of the PH 6-Handed event, not likely if these numbers hold up.

I think numbers are lower because people are realizing there's so much better value elsewhere. You can play a lower rake with way better structure in the PH $40k in a day or a slightly higher buy-in at the Aria in a casino that's enjoyable to be inside of.

The Colossus numbers look to be wayyyyyyy down. Didn't they pull in 18k entries last year?

I think even the average recs are starting to realize the chance of binking a WSOP bracelet is so tiny that they're better off playing in a $600/$500k or $600/$1m event elsewhere that gives you 4x the starting chips with 40 minute levels in a nice venue.

Times have changed. The WSOP still has plenty of good value here and there, but overall people have realized they can stretch their dollars far further elsewhere.

If there was a Like button I'd surely be using it for this post. This year and last, the first thing I thought when I looked at all of the summer series was that the WSOP seemed to be lacking. Aria, Venetian, Wynn's poker rooms are far more enjoyable to spend hours upon hours in. I've found the softest 2/5NL at the Rio during the series though, at some point I'll make my way there.

well I don't know about 4x the starting stack because the $250 gives 20k starting stack and the $200 has 15k.

I still prefer the dailies than the events at the venetian or PH just because I like to be around the atmosphere of the WSOP. I live fairly close to Vegas so I can go to the Venetian to play all year round, but for me June is for the World Series. I like going around and seeing the pros and watching other events while on breaks or while waiting for the next event I will play to start. For instance I am going to play a daily tomorrow, specifically so I can check out the late Colossus action and the 10K heads up event as well.

Venetian is being played in a warehouse too now.

The employee event was down on entries too. Probably an indicator of the whole Series to come.
