WSOP Dailies Question WSOP Dailies Question

Whats up guys, I have a quick question regarding dailies at WSOP. I have about $2,000 for my tournament roll for my trip. A friend of mine (poker pro) mentioned that their is tons of value in the dailies at wsop.

In your experience is this the case? what do the prize pools usually reach? Also what do you think is the best course of action for my roll. Considering, My ROI is not particularly strong in live tournaments. Online has been great.

Plan A
Monster stack $1500
Daily $185 x1
Daily $185 x1
Daily $135 x1

or Plan B
Daily $185 x5
Daily $135 x5
Daily $235 x2 or $600 500kgtd at PH

I'm leaning more towards the volume option given my current ROI/Bank roll situation.

Any input is valuable

Wrong message board, but here are the #'s from last year http://www.wsop.com/news/2016/Jul/77...K-RESULTS.html

The $235 is the best daily deepstack tournament. $135 isn't worth it. I'd also recommend firing a single table satellite or two if you have any clue what a push-fold chart is, and want to try to play a big event.

I would opt for the higher volume. MTTs are a numbers game. The more the better.

As much fun as option A sounds, with getting to play in a big $1,500 event, I think I personally would eventually decide to go the more conservative route and get some guaranteed decent action and go route B.

Edit: actually, I think i might compromise and maybe try to find a $565 to $1,000 bracelet event on the schedule and do that + 3 of the $235 tournies and 1 of the $185s. A little bit of the best of both worlds.

I would stay away from the 135's, bad structure/poor value. 235's are juicy (both by rake standards and competition, meaning high rake/soft competition. Monster stack recommended, best value wsop tourney at that price range imo.

Agree that the 2:00 $235 DDS is the best value and opportunity if you are there all day and have the time. I think you get a lot of players who bust out early from that day's 11:00 a.m. bracelet events (that's my plan if I run bad and bust early) and gets large pools with big payouts.

The $235 DDS has $48 of rake. It is in no way a good value. Yeah, they might be soft. But that rake is barely beatable with the structure the tournament has. Play the Monster Stack. That tournament is actually the better value.

When live tournament players use the term "value" they are only thinking of how big first place money is compared to the entry fee. That is what they think value means lol. They are not considering EV, variance etc.

I agree with the idea of playing two or three $175 satellites to try to get into the Monster Stack for cheap and then playing cheaper routines if that doesn't pan out.

If it were me, I would fire one bullet at the PH 600, one bullet at the GN 570, one bullet at one of the DDS 235s (just for the experience, really), and leave the remaining 600 or so for an extra bullet at one of those other tourneys, or a Monster Stack satellite, or whatever.

You need to get ridiculous lucky to get a 4 digit payday, e.g. final table, so you might as well get ridiculous lucky in a $235 that has a much bigger field with a much bigger prize pool.

If you never cash, the $50 makes a big difference. If you do cash every once in a while you'll be glad you spent the extra fitty.

Im in the same situation as you are OP. Ill be in town 6/23-6/28. Set up a tournament package and sell some action to some poker friends. tastystakes.com helps with this a bunch. You never know who's out there that is willing to take a piece of you. GL w the tournament grind.

so I really appreciate everyone's input, it is especially valuable coming from y'all.

Here is my plan-

6x $235 WSOP 2pm dailies
2x $185 WSOP 5pm dailies
1x $150 GN 100k (15k starting @25/50 30min levels)
1x $570 GN 500k (25k starting @25/50 30min levels)

I'll sprinkle more in if cash games go well, looking at possible Venetian deep stack events.

I'll break top 10 in at least one, so ill keep you all posted!

It's more like 2-3a when there are 1000+ runners.

Nah, it's a couple hours later than that. Last year I played for 14 hours and didn't win.

The GN 570 is 40 minute levels. 60 at final table. This is why I'd fire an extra bullet at that, or one of the other deeper ~$600 tourneys, instead of playing 2 235s.
