bigtex, I haven't been to Tunica since Harrah's was still the Grand. Is the poker room/tournament still upstairs or have they changed everything in the last few years?

Thanks and be sure to say hi, I'm easy to spot speeding around in my red electric wheelchair and my avatar is my picture.

This is my first poker tourney trip, can't wait to get there next week. I played at Choctaw and couldn't believe the numbers they drew, can we expect the same in Tunica. As a new tournament player, I hope you guys take it easy on me. LOL

I hope to meet some of you in Tunica. GL to all.

Interested in some cash game information for Tunica:

What is the max buy-in amount at No-Limit Holdem for the 1-3 and 2-5 games at Harrah's, the Horseshoe, and Gold Strike? Is it correct that Gold Strike has no cap?

Do all three casinos allow the "mississippi" button straddle?

Thanks!

Tunica will probably run 100-150 less in most noon ring events than Choctaw did while 5 & 7 pm tourneys will be about the same. I base this on last year numbers and Tunica doesn't have DFW to draw from.

i can only speak for harrahs, except that bigtex said earlier that horseshoe has 300 max for the 1/3 games

harrahs has 500 max for the 1/3 games, and im thinking 1k for the 2/5 games but i cant confirm the latter. straddles are allowed in any position also, including button

Gold Strike and Samstown do not cap their NLHE games and Missisippi straddle is allowed in any position but the blinds.

I reserved 4 nights in the terrace, but they told me they didn't have any rates for the WSOP. Is there a way to get a reduction in rate? If this has already been talked about, please accept my apologies.

i got an email from harrahs tunica today advertising this event and they said they have WSOP rates at 35/night sun-thu and 65/night fri-sat, and the discount would be applied with proof of tournament registration. i guess ask them about that

Is this where I stayed last year? It's about 15 minutes from the casino near Sam's Town?

First big tournament for me. I'm a NL cash game specialist and been rounding for a living for 4 months.

What time can I register for Event 1? Day before? That morning? If I need to register in the morning, should I get there really early?

I have a 2 queen room at the Terrace hotel at Harrah's from the 2nd to the 12th. Possibly looking for a roommate; would be $250-$300 for the entire time.

PM me if interested, must be atleast a somewhat active poster and a reference or 3 wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the info, hang. I can't wait to get there and, hopefully, no construction on the way.

Jimmy, or whoever has the authority to make these kind of changes, is there anyway to make the Sunday events 1day events? I am speaking of the $345 events on the 5th and 12th. Perhaps switch out the Turbo $345 on the 10th with the regular $345 on the 5th?

Myself, as well as many others I would imagine, have school/work on Monday and can only make it down to play weekend events. As such if we do not make day 2 of a Saturday event, there is nothing we can really play on Sunday without missing time at school/work.

An alternate solution perhaps might be starting at 10am and just playing through all of it in 1 night? I would be greatly appreciative if you guys could throw us weekend grinders a bone and try and get a couple 1day events on Sundays. Thanks.

Really doubt they're gonna change anything since the series basically started today, plus it takes a whole 12-13 hours sometimes just to get in the money, don't think they will even consider this.

It is too late to make any changes as they would have to be submitted to Ms gaming for approval. Many people have their scheduals set for these already.
