I'm ready for the cash games, last year I saw absurdly deep 2/5 and 5/10 PLO games and even a nice horse mix as well. Like tex said you will be able to find 1/3 pretty much anywhere but the big games will be at Harrahs with some larger ones at the shoe.

For someone new to cash games, what amount of money would you suggest buying in for in an uncapped 1-2 game? Standard 100 BBs?

The average is about $300. But I like to buy in for atleast 75 percent of the big stack as I don't want him pushing me around.

Harrah's and Horshoe's 1/3 has a 500 max buy-in

Any food recs for Tunica? I've only eaten at the Paula Deen buffet. Not just looking for a buffet, though. Steak, seafood and buffet ideas would be very welcome.

Twains steak house at Samstown imo is the best in town, Paula Deans is the best buffet with the Horseshoe's second. If you like bbq go downtown to Rendezvous for their ribs. For seafood try either Paula Deans or Goldstrike on friday or saturday night seafood buffets.

Since I am a retired cop and also carry a reserve county deputy badge I would suggest the county jail almost anything can be found there. And the room rates are very affordable and includes meals.

A quick bit of venting about how inefficient Harrah's/Caesar's Entertainment is when it comes to booking rooms. I have about the least status possible, but even so on 1/26, 1/29 and 1/30, I'm able to get a rate of $30 which is $5 less than the CWSOP12 rate. The weekend rate(1/27 and 1/28--$105 to $145 depending on the day of the weeke or some other randomizing factor) is another story and the event rate is a savings of about half off at $65. Three stitched together reservations(and apromis I will not have to check out and in, etc.) and half an hour later with a supervisor and I believe I am getting the best rate I can get. Woefully bad customer service even with nice people trying to help. Well, even whine wiht that cheese. Time to get back to wrok.

In looking at the posted schedule of events, I don't see anything listed for Saturday January 28. (The daily 5:00 and 7:00 I assume would run). Is there no noon event on Saturday, or am I just missing something? Over under on me missing something is 68%.

Thanks. Is all the rooms at Harrahs a half mile away from the casino? Im on their site to get a room and all the ones I find say they are in a hotel a half mile for the casino. Also they say they have shuttles to take you back and forth but how hard would it be to just drive myself back and forth? Thanks.

They have one hotel by the casino but you need to be diamond or higher to get a room there. The shuttles run about every 15 minutes but just as easy to drive yourself.

+1. i had to do the same thing and also got a 40 minute runaround on whether there was availability for the CWSOP rate and for the Casino Tower and on and on and on. i have email confirmations, but my Total Rewards page doesn't have the correct reservation information.

There are no caps for the wsopc rate just book at normal rate then show front desk you tourney receipt, 1 receipt is good for your entire stay.

what i thought i remembered from the thread, they need to make their CSRs aware of this fact. or their computer system needs to not say 'oversold' or whatever when they try to apply their rates.

see ya there (but in choctaw first!)

I just went thru their site and got 3 days for like $170 with tax included and dont have to play any tourneys. Thrus Feb 9th $24 10th$ 57 and Sat the 11th for $72 for 2 Queens. How good will Harrahs be compting buffets and things that week? Thanks.

If you are playing cash games it is very easy to get a buffet comped just takes a little play. Horseshoe, Harrahs and Foldstrike are very liberal in giving food comps.
