Just wanted to start a designated thread for the Tunica, MS events. I see others have started some for Bossier City, Hammonds etc....The schedule that is posted on WSOP.com is for 3 Feb - 13 Feb 2012. If someone has any details as far as structures, room rate codes, any other information that comes avaiable in regards to these events at this location please post it here for myself and anyone else interested in heading to Tunica. By the way its never to early to plan!!!!

Last year I saw some posts on here about room rate codes; however, when I called to use them, the people at the desk had never heard of them. What they told me is that once you get there and play in an event, take your receipt to the front desk, and your rate becomes $35 weekdays and $65 weekends.

I guess they were getting a lot of people using the codes in the past and then not playing in the tournaments.

There was a pretty good turn out last year. Tournament room was huge! I was very impressed.

Once you took a tournament receipt to the front desk, your rates changed for every day you are there, regardless how many tournaments you play in. You just have to play in at least one WSOPC event.

I would reccommend having everything planned and booked by the end of November, start of December.

I can confirm this from last year.

Make sure to either drive or rent a car if you plan on doing anything outside of the casino.

You are right but since this is the event I get to sleep in my own bed I don't always remember room details.

Ill just book the room and go that route with it. thanks for the info...

Bigtex wanted to ask you since you are from that area what is the name of the hotel that is actually at the casino? I stayed at tunica for the night during the 1 event i played last year and booked online but it was a hotel across the street the shuttle was fine no issues at all but the closer the better if the price isn't much different. thks

It is called Harrahs Casino Towers but good luck getting it best bet would be to call and request it rather that booking online.

After Tunica, If I had to choose between PBKC and AC what are the pros and cons never been to either location? any suggestions?

AC tourneys are run in-house poor quality TD and dealers are brought in from the table games pit and given a crash course on dealing poker. Jimmy Sommerfeld and his traveling floors run PBKC no comparison in tourneys and the fields will be larger at PBKC.

I live about an hour and 45 minutes from AC and I played more @ the PBKC circuit than both AC circuits combined last year if that helps clear things up any.

Jimmy,

Do you have the scheduled list of events made out for this one yet? I see you have posted Biloxi and a few others already.

Good I don't like the 12 in 12 thing as it cuts down on the number of events you can play unless you bust out alot which I don't plan on doing. It may happen but I don't plan on it.

LOL, you want an event every other day or something? Good luck making $$$ with travel expenses and that schedule. Not to mention weekenders that want to get a few events in during a short period.

Ah FFS. Wanted to go to the whole series but 18 days for a guy with a real job is way too long.

Chasing poker tourneys is a job. Just doesn't always pay.
