Adding 7K-14K was a nice addition where it was needed, would rather see that than 250-500 but you could have left 250-500 in it would have only added 40 minutes to the tourney. I'm sounding like Chainsaw more everyday guess I need to have lunch with him more often. I didn't see it are they not witholding 1% from the prize fund for the National Championship now?

With 20k in chips, it was better to cut the 250 - 500 and add the 7k -14k where it was needed.

No, the 1% is not being withheld. I can call it a Free-Roll Now!

There isn't room to add 40 minutes TEX!!!
I think certain markets will have over 1,000 Players therefore, the tnmt will go to about 2 am on Day 3. Maybe 3 am . Cannot add another 40 minutes.

I'll take this trade off 100% of the time in this type of event.

Thanks Jimmy. You, Jack, Steve and the rest of the WSOP crew are the best. I had so much faith in you all that I already have my room booked for Bossier City, Biloxi, St. Louis, NOLA and will book Choctaw and Vegas soon.

I don't think anyone would cry if you removed the 25/50 level.

The more I think about the more I'm looking forward to these main events .

Ok here for those looking for hotels here is what the Horseshoe posted up.

I'll add my comments and 2 cents worth of opinions below.

My opinions:

Horseshoe - Super nice! Nicest hotel rooms in town. Most expensive hotel rooms in town for the weekend during the WSOP. If you can get it cheap during the week, it's worth it just to be in the hotel/casino and not have to commute.

Comfort Inn - Last time I stayed there was about 2 years ago but the rooms were clean and nice. I'd compare it to LaQuinta. It's very close to the casino, only a few blocks, but not within walking distance and I wouldn't walk or venture far from the motel at night. I would feel plenty safe at the hotel and I'd feel fine taking my wife but I wouldn't go wondering around the neighborhood. I was in their parking lot a few weeks ago when my shuttle stopped there to pick up someone and everything looked clean and nice from the parking lot.

Microtel - Been a couple years since I've stayed there but it was clean, very safe and a good place to crash. The rooms I've stayed in were really small and didn't have big windows. I always felt like I was in a dorm room. Nothing fancy but again, it's not bad, a good place for a couple guys to crash but not the fanciest place to take your wife.

Courtyard Marriott - Brand new, very nice, next door to the Horseshoe and located inside the huge Boardwalk shopping center. If you are bringing your wife and she's going to shop, I'd stay here. Seriously, you walk straight out of the hotel lobby and you are IN the Boardwalk. The rooms are nice, not huge but big enough, big flat screen tv, tons of satellite tv channels and the hotel lobby area is huge and very "trendy". Not sure what else to call it. They do have a nice pool area too.

There is a negative though...I'll copy/paste most of this info from an earlier comment of mine. The Shoe and the Marriott are side by side and separated by a railroad track, so you can't walk directly between them. You enter both the Horseshoe and the Marriott/Boardwalk from Traffic St. As of right now Traffic St is closed down at the railroad tracks for construction. I spoke with the floor at the Shoe today and they confirmed the road will still be closed during the WSOP unless some miracle happens. What this means is, traffic is rerouted and to go next door from the Shoe to the Boardwalk/Marriott, you have to hit I-20 and go over the river and back around through downtown. It's only a little bit farther than if you stayed in any downtown hotel, so it's not the end of the world. Just don't look on the map and see they are side by side and think you've hit the jackpot.

Quality Inn - It shares a parking lot with the Microtel I mentioned above. Again, been awhile since I stayed there, but it was clean and the rooms were about like the Comfort Inn or like a LaQuinta.

Hilton - This is probably the best deal on the list for the price. It is a Hilton, no need for me to explain. It's only a couple years old and the staff is excellent. It's right across the river in downtown Shreveport and is a very short drive. They also have a free and very efficient shuttle system that runs all day and fairly late at night. When they are busy they will run two vans and they really do a good job of getting their guests around town.

I know this is long but I hope it helps some out of town-ers who've never been or haven't been to Shreveport/Bossier much.

If you go to the microtel website you will get a better deal without mentioning the wsop. will see if it's the same with other hotels.

Guess I'm old fashioned or cheap but it is hard for me to see paying more than the cost of the main event for a room that you hope you spend less than 8 hours per day in. And I don't see anything exciting about Shreveport/Bossier City that rates these room prices. It's not exactly New Orleans.

That's totally understandable Tex. Unfortunately, we can't get poker room rates like Tunica. The only way I can justify it, is that I'm normally taking my wife along or often, as in the case of the WSOP, I'll be splitting the room up with 2-3 buddies, so the price is cheap and yes, all we will be doing is sleeping a few hours and showering.

They do have a free parking garage but I'm not sure about the price of valet, since I've never used it.

Jimmy-

Can you confirm that the schedules at the other WSOP-C stops this season will mirror Bossier City? If so, I'm guessing the same can be said for the structures etc?

Should be close. Chicago will probably have a 4 day Champ event due to anticipated huge turn out.

Many people don't like extended stays since you don't get your room cleaned everyday, if you want clean towels you have to take your old dirty ones and exchange etc. but for the price difference I can live with it. Never stayed here but I use extended stays in Biloxi, NOLA, St. Louis and other places.

Jimmy, on the structure sheet of the Main Event it says late registration is allowed until the start of level 10. Day 1 ends on level 9 so could someone just buyin before the start of day 2 and just start at level 10 or do they have to buyin before level 9 ends?
