I've seen alot of tournament talk and a few people ask about cash games, so I'll chime in there. If you haven't made it to town yet and are curious about the cash games, maybe this will help a little.
I was in town Thursday-Sunday and only played one tourney and spent every other waking our in the main poker room. I'll be back on Thursday to spend a couple more nights and play cash games.
For those of us familiar with the room and the normal action, everyone will attest the room hasn't seen this much nonstop action in...well since I've been playing. Heard an old reg ask another old reg...."How long before you think we will see this room this packed for this long?" He replied, "Next year's WSOP."lol
The cash games have been great. Everything from $4/8 up to the $25/50 PLO/NLHE game, have all looked really juicy. I played a little $4/8, some $1/3NL and several long sessions of $5/10 O8. One day we ran it all day with a full kill which made the game alot of fun. Every day I was there I saw a big selection of games for just the 14 tables in the main room. $4/8, $20/40, $1/3, $2/5, $5/10, $2/5 PLO, $2/5 PLO8, $5/10 PLO, $25/$50 PLO/NLHE and a few other games mixed in at times. Tons of tourists with WSOP gear they just walked out of the gift shop with and it seemed like I couldn't walk across the casino floor without hearing someone talking about poker or telling a bad beat story.
From what I've seen, my one tournament and my cash game hours played, this event has been pulled off beautifully. Richard and the gang have done a super job. Hats off to them. I've seen a few issues that could be addressed but I don't see any reason in vetting them here. Plus everything has been overwhelming good and the turnout is even bigger than I expected.
