Well congrats on the side-bet, and sorry about the 4th, run-better? Just like the Venetian Nightly tournaments during the WSOP, these 7pm tournies are probably softer/more fun to play/more casual.
I am ashamed/hesitant to admit this (I may get ripped apart by some of you but that's ok I do appreciate any insight) but I ended up taking off yesterday. I played better in the second event than in the first. That is not to say I played well, just better. So I regained some confidence but I still forced myself to sit in my car and think things through last night. I was tempted to message fellow 2+2'er's that I met with regards towards possibly finding a place to crash since I instantly checked out of Motel 6 for 18 reasons.
I decided my mindset wasn't right, and I didn't even bother to play side-games or anything! I unregistered my remaining tournies and took off.
The cost of gas (and night at Motel 6) were a lost cause. But I felt that I would simply dump my remaining buy-ins being "subconsciously" on-tilt.
Funny thing is I am usually a bankroll-nit but will take singular shots on occasion. Given that the costs associated with live tournament play is so high, bailing out on a series that is far from home will not deem profitable. As such I will play Biloxi WSOP circuit but not Southern Indiana or Chicago, since it is much closer to me. I learned this lesson "the hard way".
I do sincerely appreciate the hour-long convos I had with some of you, and the shorter conversations as well. I am a novice player relative to (almost) all of you. I learned a lot about makeup vs. markup (lol) and how online players are trying to survive/thrive in this non-online time, with backers/staking.
I also apologize since this "plight" of mine is something most of you may have gone through already years ago but it is new to me. I feel being open about how I think and what I'm thinking now will help me in the long-term than just saying "my way of thinking is always correct unless I deem otherwise".
It's funny the advice I sought from some of you was more mindset/bankroll related and not play. Actually I hope that is a good thing!
Cheers,
See you guys soon! Wish you well for the remainder of Bossier.
