Structures are significantly worse for WSOP circuits this season, at least for the $400 buyin events. I did not take the time to evaluate the other ones yet.

First, a positive, I applaud WSOP-c for going to the big blind ante.

Here are my observations of the structure for the $400 event.

Starting stacks are same which is fine and I am not complaining about blinds starting at 100 100 rather than 25 50. By the close of entries level 9 blinds are about the same as before so I have no complaints up to this point.

It is after this that things decline.

45 minute levels used to kick in at level 23 and now kick in at level 25. Might seem small but this is significant. For the rest of the tournament you will be playing one level beyond what you would have previously. If this was the only change I would not have bothered posting.

Day two starts at 2500 5000 5000 which is a cost per orbit of 12,500 as opposed to 10,500 per orbit prior. Almost 20% increase cost per orbit.

By level 30 blinds are at 250k cost per orbit when prior you would have been at level 29 which was 180k cost per orbit. That is a big jump.

It will be interesting to see how this changes stack depths/playability in day 2 and how significantly it shortens the duration of tournaments.

Was about to post this. Yeah the 400
Ring events structure has gotten worse and worse the last 4 years or so. However, I think the masses that play these events won’t even notice.

All the $400 weekend events should be 1-day events anyway.

Get some play early, get the equity out, then flip for thousands. Lowering the rake would be nice on the sped up structures, but obviously that will never happen.

Get your 2-day $400 events in mid-week for all the players who want that.
