How have the nightly satellites to the main event been running? Do you guys think they're worth the $210 investment?

fwiw i think the 30m levels are great. they dont skip any levels, and have 50/75, 100/200a, 250/500, 700/1400. theres like 100(30+30+40) mins of play that isnt usually in tournaments. i would however like to see the starting chipstacks change. 10k/300$ 12k/500$ 15k/1k$ dosnt make much difference at all. i would think something like 10k/300$, 15k/500$, 20k/1k$ would allow for alot more play, without extending the duration of the tournament to 3 days.

The 1k structure should have started at 40 min levels at least. For a 300$ buyin I thought the structures were good the 580 could use a change(maybe make it 15k starting and same structure as 1k) the 1k however should def have been 12/15k starting and 40 min all day and 50 min on day 2.

Also not giving out dinner vouchers in the 365s is just pure ****ing doltry. I mean come on, the food is already overpriced so these 10$ vouchers cost the casino liek 2-4$ in actual food or whatever, I think paying 45$ in rake or whatever can pay for that.

As much as I loved reading all the arguments in this thread, everyone just stop bitching.

Caesars is the absolute nut low in the poker world. The rake is outlandish, their properties mainly suck, room rates are insane, they're under-staffed, their tournament schedules are boring stale and poorly scheduled, structures aren't very good, etc (I can keep going, fwiw)...

But they have the one thing no one else does...the wsop brand. It attracts players from far and wide and makes for some really soft fields. If you can look through all the awful ****, there's some good poker tourneys....if you think the **** is too much, then just dont play.

Caesars entertainment (or whatever they're calling themselves these days) has proven time and time again that they only care about one thing: money. They may trick you into thinking they care about players once in a while, but they keep proving that they don't.

(Interjection: the actual wsop in the summer in Vegas has come a long way and they really are starting to listen to players and get some things right.i wouldn't say I have HIGH hopes for their future, but I'm pretty optimistic with some of the changes and how they've listened to players in the last few years. I'm still waiting for the day that all bracelet events take precedence over a $235 deepestack, but hey, you gotta crawl before you walk)

Regardless, I haven't seen these forward steps with the circuit and hope they will change things in the future. If you can't accept that Caesars sucks, then just stay at home

Well said by Gags and others.

I like what Patrick (Jiggybluff) said about the structure. Congrats on Parx by the way.

Sry if this was asked and answered, but how much Ceasars charge for parking and is there any way to work around it? (I have free room and free parking at the Borgata)

Also, are there any shuttles that run from borgata to ceasars etc?

I had a room at Harrah's and me and my buddy just took the Jitney everywhere to save money. It's a shuttle that pretty much takes you anywhere in AC...$2.25 per ride. Definitely way cheaper than taxi.

So did we ever figure out what time 1b actually starts is it 7pm or 5pm. Also 1b is just like another start day correct? You don't HAVE to play 1a and bust to play 1b right?

Also, what time does 1A start. Someone told me it was 11am, but the structure sheet clearly says 12pm.

Wtf wsop, get this sorted out

Except if its truly 11/7 1a/1b start, then day 2 wil start deeper, as you are not playing 8 hrs of 1a -- more likely 6.5 hrs -- which makes it much better if you are playing 1b and considering reentering before day2, if you bust.

Only semi-positive note of the whole series

Even if you just buy in 1 time on Saturday and bust - you can skip 1b and come back for day 2 start with 20,000 in chips and 400-800 blinds.

Just to play devils advocate to the talk of structures being awful: I sat in the 6 max today pretty card dead for 4.5 hours; picked my spots and hung around 10K for a while blah blah blah. Ended up busting after about 5 hours on two standard all in pre hands. I'm 21 and just starting to take live poker somewhat seriously. I played a lot online before Black Friday and was a winning tournament player.

That all being said, before today's event, the only tourneys I really had time for were small dinky dailies an what not. I felt like I had all the time in the world in this tournament and if my AK out flips TT I'd have a lot more time to outplay my table. I just feel like with all the extra levels that I'm not used to seeing (50/75, 150/300, 250/500, and was there 350/700 in this one??) that there's enough play to not go all out and say the structure is "awful." Can it be improved? Obviously, given so many are complaining about it. I assume it's better at other venues. But that doesn't necessarily make it awful, maybe just decent? Slightly below average?

And to address the issue of day 2 starting with very few survivors. Ill use today's event as an example. 292 entrants, 15 advance. The field was cut down to about 5% in 12 hours. Are we supposed to expect 50 to return? (Genuine question, I'm new with these tourneys but a small returning field doesn't seem bad to me) I do however feel very strongly that having 15 return at 3PM Thursday is MUCH better than having them continue play at 3AM Wednesday night - Thursday morning. And as far as there being a lot of short stacks returning...isn't that on them? Idk how half the field returns with < 10 BBs unless they're like all stalling to make day 2 or something. That seems to be on them more than on the structure imo but again I could be wrong.

Anyway, I understand frustration (65 entry fee on 300 buy in is ******ed) but I really had a good time with the event today (it's cool that they had a 6 max imo). I would play it again.
Just to make a comment on the entry fee, it's almost the same as a lot of tournaments..it's a little higher, I'm not saying its not...yes it's 300+65, but there is no 3% withheld fr dealers/staff...so in essence, mst 300 tourns are 300+40 or 45, but they hold 3% from the prize pool, so really it's 290+55 and at some paces non wsop events they hold 3% and same vig and have a dealer addon fee....and if you're a points chaser for the national championship, it's a million dollar free roll to add some ev....

Yeah true and I've actually mentioned to people before how stupid it is that Parx (and everywhere else) advertises their dailies as 100+20 and then in small print on your receipt it says 97+3+20. That's a higher percentage than the 365. Either way it sucks they have to take so much out compared to online but obv makes sense with how much more maintenance needs to be done live compared to online.
